I recently started playing eso again and noticed that some player had a merchant that follows them around, can someone bring me up to date, was this a crown store item or something you can get by a quest (lol)

She is all yours for the mighty sum of 5,000 crowns (yes the forum did originally implode at the price of her services).

Thats like 1/3 of a merchant. I was bummed with my banker and only being able to put in and take out items from the bank... no guild bank, no guild store... 5k for that is almost useless... almost lol.

The banker is ok, at least you could withdraw/deposit to your bank. Could have been worse, like only able to deposit lol

The banker is hardly 'almost useless'. I can't tell you how many times I've needed the extra bag space while out grinding mobs and that banker saved me many long trips back to town. Or...if I needed to log into a crafter to make food or potions; quick and easy. For me, anyway, it is a quality of life improvement even with it's shortcomings.

That is what I thought at first as well - but actually since I have him, I use him intensively - the banker, I mean.

I have both and use both of them frequently. Nothing worse than being out questing and suddenly run out of inventory space... do I break away from questing to find the 'wandering' NPC merchant... or do I just pop my personal merchant to buy the useless items so I can continue questing without interruption along with popping the banker to store the items I wish to sell at guild trader later? To me, time is money, and my time is well worth the money I spent on buying the assistants.

However, I will add that I think the assistants should be on a spawn timer... they shouldn't 'permanently' follow players around... I can't help but think this adds more loss of FPS to the game, especially when in crowded areas... and I see players in combat with assistants following them around.

I could live without my Merchant as I only use it VERY rarely. The Banker...you'd have to pry it off my corpse.

Really? I've never seen enemies go after an assistant before. Is this true @ZOS_GinaBruno @ZOS_JessicaFolsom ? If true, I would think this is something that would be considered a bug.

A mammoth mount with a banker and a real merchant would well worth the crowns. Would also be nice to fit 3 of your friends on the mammoth mount as well. This would be the ultimate convience 4 man group item and I would pay much more than 5k crowns to have it if it does the things I mention.

I did not even consider this to be an original idea. I do not see how this makes the idea of having this mount in ESO less appealing though.

You guys are crazy trying to justify the price of these things.

Don't get it twisted, it's not affordability. It's principal. £35 to save you 5 minutes every now and then is not good value. In fact, you need both for it to even make sense. You still have to travel to either bank or sell if you have only one.

So £70 to save a bit of time. Insanity. ZOS still fall over laughing when someone buys one I bet.

Things like this are the reason we're getting £20 to change how we look lol.

You barely mount outside of pvp.

It'd be awkward and clunky. Nobody would buy this lol. Especially that it sounds you'd pay 10k crowns for this lol

Apparently you seem to purposely ignore the fact that MANY of us use these ALL THE TIME... a lot more than '5 minutes every now and then'. Apparently you also don't do a lot of quests or grinding, because if you did you'd know that they save a LOT MORE than just 'five minutes'. Even if it were five minutes 'every now and then' over 100's of hours of gameplay, you'd see it adds up quickly. Sorry that you don't agree or can't afford the assistants, but for many of us they are extremely convenient and allow us to make better use of our time than running back and forth to merchants/banks while questing or grinding.

I was planning on getting the banker but balked at the price initially. Then the crafting bags came and most of my inventory space problems were alleviated, so I still have not bought it. I'm still on the fence about it, thanks to the crown sale I could pick the banker up no problem now, but I don't know if I'd really use it that often.

Now if I could summon one of my alt-mules and put stuff directly into their inventory... take my money ZOS!

Honestly all I ever need her for IS selling stuff. I use Kits for repairs and general merchants never sell anything worth buying anyway. Also Banker does all I need him to do as well, even if it is a bummer he doesn't give you access to Guild Bank.

I believe the correct term is "overpriced." There are plenty of examples like this that validate the use of the merchant or the banker. It really is a matter of perspective; some people will suggest that the extent of the merchant/banker's services are worth that price, in their opinion.

On the other hand, the popular opinion (and mine) is that for 5,000 crowns, being pricier than the game itself or any of the DLCs, we could have at least been given the same accessibility of a typical merchant/banker. Or perhaps no additional functionality is necessary; perhaps just paying 5,000 crowns to get both would be considered reasonable by more people.
