Remote play ps4 controls (r2 l2) PS vita

I have a question regarding the remote play control scheme for PS vita. Does anyone know of a way to remap the controls to our liking? The touch pad is god awful for using r2 and l2, half the time you have to slide your fingers around just to find the sweet spot. It is absolutely terrible for combat seeing how those are your main attack and block. I have tried going into the ps4 settings and changing the controller config there, but it doesn't work for the vita controls. I have also tried the config in the vita itself but it doesn't have an option to reassign the touch controls. Any help is much appreciated!

ZOS removed the option to remap the buttons. They also didn't make the game with remote play on a Vita in mind.
Far too many characters to list any more.

That is a shame, its one of the few games I actually want to remote play. Toilet scrolls will stay a dream for now

That's a shame because... they did say:
Hey everyone! Just to confirm, ESOTU does allow remote play on a PS Vita. However, it's important to note that the game experience on the Vita may differ from that of the main console.

I found these instructions in another thread:

You may run into issues getting on your mount while in Remote Play. As a temporary workaround, quickly tap the Vita screen 5 times.

What ESO really needs is an Auction Horse.
    That's right... Horse.

We REALLY need an alternate control scheme for Remote Play on Vita. This game plays flawlessly on my Vita and I've enjoyed playing ESO via Remote Play more than any other PS4 game. It's almost perfect...but that rear touchpad needs to be killed with fire.

    1. Leave the map access in the center of the touchscreen.
    2. Allow mapping to the 4 corners of the touchscreen.
    3. Make the Vita's shoulder buttons L2 and R2.
    4. Either allow us to map our own buttons or make L1/R1/L3/R3 map to the 4 corners of the touchscreen.
    5. Problem solved.

Please do this for us! It's so close to perfect on the Vita, it's painful. That rear touchpad is a nightmare - and it's not even your fault.

Agreed, this game would be perfect on vita if the controls were sorted! Even if they just added the option to swap the shoulder buttons like a few other games I've played on the vita do it would quickly sort the problem

+1 for remapping the buttons to work with Vita Remote Play. I have cancelled my ESO Plus subscription and will happily resubscribe when this simple option for remote play button mapping is enabled.

I almost bought a PS Vita just to remote play elder scrolls online, but changed my mind after reading this thread. Thanks for posting it and sharing your concerns. Hopefully they fix this issue, and I'll revisit getting the Vita.

By posting here will it make any difference? I tried the tapping screen 5 time for mount and didnt work. Off course if you have 2 psn accounts login to the one you want to use on the PS4 then login to the other one on vista and use remote play, as long as your controller is within range of your ps4 the vita will act as a mini tv, unfortunately the screen dim / saver kicks in and becomes annoying.

is there an actual way to make a request to the developers? for a alternate control scheme or allow button mapping.

    :D LOL "Toilet Scrolls"!!!!!

Thanks for the laugh, and the thread. I was on the fence about getting a Vita just for ESO too, but after reading I'll be holding off for a while.

Same problem here. I wish there was a way to customize the controls on the Vita. As of now, I can only do explorations quests while playing remotely because combat is almost impossible using the back touchscreen.

I don't think it would take a lot of coding to allow us to change the controller settings, they could easily do a couple of presets just by remapping the buttons. A lot of us would play a lot more if we could do that.

Here's hoping that this thread will catch some attention from the devs!

Please devs, can you do something about remapping the Vita controls! It's an absolute nightmare!

My wife plays on her Vita - and actually you can buy a grip for the Vita that includes an R2 and L2 button that work PERFECTLY... L3 and R3 are still a little tricky - but doable (and mounting the horse needs a little quick fingered trick to it, but again, doable).

The game looks beautiful on the Vita too...

But agreed - re-mapping would definitely help make it more accessible out of the box :)

Maybe a general tip for everyone experiencing problems with ()2 and ()3 buttons. Try to touch the touchpad at the top and bottom edge. For me this works a lot better than around the center of the supposed touch area.

You can remote play from PC/Mac using the actual ps4 remote plugged in through USB. It's pretty steady if you have your console connected through LAN.

Two problems though: You can't use the keyboard right in front of you to answer PSN messages and such. You can't use voice chat features. (On the vita, you can.)
