Plight of Solo Players

I have enjoyed ESO since beta. I play with 2 good guilds who raid and join for groups. Much of the time though, i solo -- partly to play at my own casual speed but sometimes because i have to take breaks and don't want to impede others when i do.

The last patch had some good "eye candy" but no new content for solo players. On top of that, the drop rate for desirable loot in most soloable dungeons has dropped to nearly 0%. Haven't seen a motif from any of the usual dungeons in two weeks or more. My solo play time is now reduced to harvesting as i have more than enough CP.

I am one of the lucky ones who can get into raids; finding a group is sometimes harder. What is happening to the many ESO gamers who prefer to solo? NOTHING for them.

variety is the spice of life my friend. if all we got was solo content until the end of time then a lot of other players that aren't yourself would be alienated

Speaking as someone who primarily plays solo, we got the bulk of the last few updates. I'd say a group-focused DLC was way beyond overdue.

That said, your second point is somewhat valid. Making the blue items from Delve and World Bosses ultra-rare was an odd choice. (Also, have you noticed that when the DO actually drop, they're the level the zone used to be, not the level the zone is? For example, I actually got a blue drop off of a World Boss in Gold Shadowfen the other day. The boss was CP160. The item was CP80.) It also seems like they've nerfed the living hell out of Dwemer motif drops.

I get that Solo is what you do for the storytelling, and the story is the reward for that, while group is what you do for the best goodies. It makes sense to do it that way. But there should be a few decent goodies along the way for soloing. Getting something decent to drop is one of the joys of the game. You shouldn't know you're not going to get that joy just because you chose solo content.

My friend, most high level players who solo have done all the zones you "cough" over and done them and done them and done them.

I don't begrudge new group content for those that like to group. I accept that the best gear drops in group content. I am bewildered that group players would 'cough' over the need for new content for solo players alongside the new group content.

It is a valid point that all but the most recent DLC have had solo content and some group content. I suppose I am just wondering why solo players would buy the most recent DLC since it contains little more than eye candy for them. Just wondering.

The simple answer - we wouldn't buy it.

Many of the solo type players like myself are also ESO+ subscribers and get the DLC anyway, but probably won't ever see the content.

No biggie though as long as they mix some solo content with some group content, I'm good to go. Just because one DLC holds nothing for me, doesn't mean the next won't.

wait, 99% of the game is solo content, and vmsa is increased to 100% chance? why are you giving us your whole life story and dropping the tearlord bomb.

    I;m not understanding your thread..

Plus it's an MMO, ok a bit of solo content is fine but the whole point of MMO are to play with other people.
I used to play on my own but then I found a really fun guild to play with and it's made the game 10 times more enjoyable, plus a bit easier as I don't have to do things on my own anymore.

I really don't wanna sound condescending, but it's a matter of choice, not luck. Please don't make it sound like it's a privilege to attend trials, especially normal modes that drop all the nessessary loot.
Skye Cloude - Sorc DPS, Master Crafter. Main, the bestest
Lae Lenne - Templar Healer Trial grade.
Dromede - Stamina Nightblade, she's a newb and doesn't know what she's doing
V'oghatta - Stamplar pretending to be a tank
Ulville Thonvella - aspiring Fire Mage, be careful around her fire sticks!
Dromedaris - lost and not found. Named after a shoe, what else can you expect from her? A proper tank in her wildest dreams
Swims-Naked - too pretty to grind, too silly to quest.
Sun Flair - Dunmer Templar that can't spell for life. To bad she's too broke to afford a name change... Well, at least she's pretty...

People seem to forget that the design philosophy of the DLC is that it is an a la carte system where, if you don't like it, YOU DON'T BUY IT.

As a result of this, the focus will of course cycle through different playstles so that everyone can get something they want. Solo players just got three in a row, with some group content included in those as well. Not every DLC is designed to cater to every player base.

Basically the entire game plus the last 3 dlc's were completely solo. Then one DLC comes out with two new dungeons and the complaining begins. Woaw, really.

    We need more not-solo dlc.

With Orsinium, TG and DB all being basically solo DLC's I don't think solo players can complain too much. I play solo most of the time and coming up for a year in the game have not even been near TG or DB as of yet as I have too much other stuff to do.

I think new group dungeons are overdue. Some of them were getting a bit tiresome and repetitive (at least while group finder is not working I am getting a break from them). Be interesting to see the latest ones when they reach console.

There is plenty of solo content, BUT...

...it's all too easy, and the rewards are just bad. The only exception is VMA, which is a miserable chore at best. Why does ZOS have so much trouble creating MEDIUM difficulty content?

As a primarily solo player to all my soloist brethren (especially if you have ESO+): the new dungeons are quite fun. They have good stories, good characters, good scenes, good fights and on normal mode they are not particularly difficult. They are totally worth running once for the scenery and the story alone if you can find a group that will let you read all the dialogue and books.

Solo player, not by choice but by current circumstances, and I have to say I really can't complain. I've had loads to do with the last DLC.

There's loads to do with the and plenty of daily quests. The overland bosses in Wrothgar and Gold Coast may well be group, but they don't require the time or effort by a long shot as a trial or dungeon. And they reward you with potentially good gear and the possibility of motiff pages.

Personally I think there has been enough variety and choice in the DLC's to satisfy most players. All the locations I've visited you can tell a lot of care and thought has gone into them.

All in all I think ZOS have done a great job, looking forward to the future

    Solo player here... ESo+ too.

My response was "ok this dlc is not for me but that is fine cuz the last several were and more will come."

i cant realistically expect everything to be perfect for me.

    So no prob.
