Invincible guards is probably the worst thing done to this game.

Wow, awesome argument. Way to contribute. I guess if you have nothing to add, you just want to stop others from having an opinion. Almost the same argument given for not wanting others to be able to kill guards... 'Because I don't want them to'. Smh...

Actually, I have plenty of opinions, as well as actual insight as to why it cannot be changed. I simply have no desire to discuss them with someone who cares not for any but his own. It is blatantly obvious that all you will do here is argue. You've given no good argument as to why it should be changed either, and have cast away every point that has been made here as if it was irrelevant. Is that what you wanted? To be perceived as a hypocrite?

I mean really, you would even deliberately insult @Nestor who is widely renowned here for being one of the most helpful and polite forum-goers to ever hit this medium. Don't expect people to feel blessed at the opportunity to discuss this when you are so toxic and unapproachable. Threads like this get shut down.

Forgive me for not knowing who every forum regular is, however I have given a better reason than any reason against it. Story and dialogue is big part of what makes the elder scrolls worth playing over other generic titles. Every reason for making them invincible is easily tweaked so that the guards are hard and spawn frequently. Even the XP argument is invalid as you could just make it so they have no XP gain. The forums are a place to discuss opinions, and when the preferences differ, there will be argument on which preference is more enjoyable. As someone who has played Oblivion and Skyrim for countless hours, as well as many competitive online games such as Socom, COD, and Grand Theft Auto, it's not hard to imagine how mortal guards would not only be an easy thing to implement, but all complications could be tweaked to create a more realistic justice system. So if you have any valid reasons against such an idea, and you refuse to share, your only purpose in this thread is to derail the discussion. 'Because MMO' is as valid an argument as when it is made for having a global auction house. Just because other players are in the environment does not mean that the narrative in the story should have to suffer simply because some closed minded forum dwellers hate to see others having fun.

    So why are merchant invincible?
    And quest givers?
And many many many of other NPC?

    And why they respawn?
    Its also immersion breaking.

    But its needed.

Why cant I take all armor from killed NPC?

    Again...

If we could kill guards, there would be a lot of problems with it. System's problems.
Present system works. What is the most important.

I can imagine how easy and boring would be TG quest if i could simple kill guards. And not afraid about be caugh.
And for sure Mournhold/Elden root/ Wayres would be "no guards" cities...

    "Dont touch running system"
"If something is stiupid but its working, its not stiupid"

If you cannot understand this... Well thats your problem. I hate invincible guards... But they are needed. ZOS got it. And you? I know... Not.

Guards are not merchants and they are not quest givers. And your imagination is pretty limited. Artificial restrictions is not entertaining, it's frustrating. Raise bounties to a higher level, never let them clear on their own, and make guards as strong as group bosses, and you will have a more immersive justice system with a more entertaining choice of fight or flight, instead of this artificial garbage. Try to understand that.

Yes, that's exactly how it should have been. This game has a heaping pile of stupid design decisions, and this is one of them for sure. ESO devs, while probably great people, are some of the worst MMO designers in the market.

The hero who defeats Molag Bal gets annihilated by a guard.

    @Bryanonymous

The Buff you get for the final battle with Molag Bal is temporary, given to you by Meridia and requires the sacrifice of one of the 5 Companions. If you can introduce a mechanic where you can kill a companion, and get Meridia to give you the Buff, then you can argue that Molag Bal angle. Otherwise, this is not a compelling, or even applicable argument.

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

PakKat "Everything was going well, until I died"
Gary Gravestink "I am glad you died, I needed the help"

    Hello there,

Recently we've felt it necessary to close this thread. The reason being that it had gotten quite heated during the time it was discussed. While it is perfectly fine to disagree with another member, we ask that you do so while respecting the other members opinion and refraining from calling them names such as "fanboy". Keep in mind that flaming is against the Forum Rules, can can lead to action on one's account. If you wish to keep the discussion going, there is another thread on the matter that held some good commentary, this thread can be found here.

    Thank you for understanding.
