Willpower + torug's or elegance for sorc?

Would I get better DPS as a sorc with 5 piece elegance that has 1h other than sharpend swords or willpower and two nirnhoned torug's swords? (which are all together worth less than a half of a single elegant sword atm)
The blue plates are nice, but the brown ones seem to last longer.

    Depends on content.

Why Nirnhoned? Wouldn't Sharpened be better overall?
I believe it's a matter of preference as well as what content you're currently doing but, at least to me, Elegant is the way to go if you're an Overload Sorc.

I'm looking into PvE, bosses and especially vMA where I can't even get past the first one unless I save up 1k ult and burn through it. So it won't make much of a difference I understand (without swords on elegant)?

Basically just trying to figure out if I'd be better off sticking to my current set or get dodgy elegant pieces until I sell my house and my car so I can afford swords

Elegance is the way to go for sorcs in vMA, IMO. Ult management is important. However, if you are having trouble with the first arena, id recommend looking at some guides and redoing your skill selection or tactics (hint, stacking ele blockade with liquid lightning on the boss after he teleport works great)

    5x elegance (all armor)
    2x kena
    3x wisdom
    2x sharpened torugs swords
    1x master/maelstrom staff

    5x elegance
    1x kena
    3x wisdom
    2-3x (magnus/vicious death/etc) 1 armor, staff, swords

    5x elegance
    5x julianos
    1x master/maelstrom staff
    2x torugs/wisdom sharpened swords

These all work as "cheap" elegance options

So @Asayre recently showed that having dual swords does not affect your overloads. So any sharpened elegant weapons would do the trick. And elegant jewellery also isn't very expensive.

I run 5 TBS, 2 kena, 5 elegant back bar (3 jewellery, two weapons) and without a vMA staff id suggest either a elegant staff (which can also be pricey) or switching a few things up. Aka your 5 piece whether it's TBS or Julianos as a staff and 1 weapon on your back bar then having an extra elegant piece on the body.

You still have more spell damage on your dual wield bar though, that's why people chose to use it. It's just the 5% damage bonus from swords that doesn't apply.

Agree, I use liquid lighting on my backbar and in aoe situation that's where up to 50% of dmg come from. If DW passive indeed doesn't affect OL then my initial question is answered, saw daggers going for 35k.

Yeah but how long do you stay on your dual wield bar, with your swords out. If it's longer than the liquid lightning cast then you are losing dps. Because when your AOE's tick they tick for the damage of the bar you have out, not the bar you cast it from.

I just took some your advice, what I did was elegance jewelry, shoes and on my overload bar, I have a defending ax. With 2x kena and 4 piece of julinanos + sharpened fire staff and sharpened sword(because why not) on overload bar.

Doing this made my overload crits go from 38k self buffed to almost 46k. I can kill the a crematorail guard in like 3-4 hits. Totally with the nearly 300k. Only have a gold necklace too.
