I don't see why some people have to be so insulting over something that is a real concern to Australian's. The fact is that ZOS are now releasing their DLC's monthly and they nearly always follow the downtime for patching with at least one night's downtime therefore this is eating hugely into our playtime. The fact that we choose to play on specific nights does not mean we have no life, it means those are the times we are available to play. So could our friends who play in other time zones please use some empathy and try to imagine how they would feel about being unable to play during their prime time for 6-7 nights in a month before they start being so insulting.

I'm Australian too, Melbourneish and the maintenance window kind of sucks, got home expecting to play and was rudely surprised.

Spent the night playing WoW, which i can see why people play, apart from its simplicity, the laughable crafting system, the heirloom gear which means you'd have to pretty much been brain dead not to be able to get to 100, it is stable. I cant remember the last time maintence lasted 6 hours, and certainly not twice in a single week.

I actually did choose to pay for the ESO plus thing, I believe in supporting a company if I'm playing their game, hopefully they can use the small amount of money save it up and get better hardware. Better yet give CCP a call and ask them about their hardware for EVE-Online

In my family, there's a running joke based on my sleeping schedule that i go by australian time, despite living in pst. So i kinda know what you're talking about, i have clocks set to australian time just as a joke. But, that being said, i'm sorry but zos is in maryland, USA, EST time zone. They're going to go off of what time works for them. If they went with 3 to 6 am EAUST, they'd hit pretty damn close to the USA prime time. Either way, no matter what time they do it at they're hitting SOMEONE'S prime time, no way around it. And as has been mentioned, maintenance is a necessary part of the mmo experience.

Sorry, but that's the simple fact of the matter. Either way, no matter what time they put it at, someone gets screwed. Globalisation sometimes sucks.

Don't know what all the fuss is over I just spent a couple of hours on the pts but if you are on consoles then I guess you are kinda screwed and need to do something else

+1 - I'm not in Australia but I am in the same time zone.

I had no issue tonight with the downtime since it occurs between 1900 to whenever it comes up and I had things to do but there must be some kind of timeslot that a five hour plus maintenance can happen that isn't as harsh for everyone. Though I'm sure if maintenance patches were only in a three hour bracket rather than six hours it would probably be accepted by more people.

Hence they need to give CCP a call, EVE-Online's mantenance, now bare in mind that its been a year or so since i played, is 30 minutes, and sometimes its down to only 10 minutes mind you thats daily, but you know what 10-30 minutes daily is not a hugh deal, thats time to get up stretch, have a smoke get something to eat.

    More like,
It's always Oceanic timezone players that is always get screwed.
Either way, no matter what time they put it at, someone gets screwed. <- this is a fact, but why does the Oceanic have to suffer every single time? Why can't we have maintenance hit a little bit on other side of the world for a while?

Look at this game, it is now being officially supported and advertized in Japan, yet the maintenance hits right on their Prime time. Look at my guild now they are little bit mad

it leaves bad taste among Japanese players. Here if you can understand Japanese, go switch to live tweets https://twitter.com/hashtag/eso_jp?f=tweets&vertical=default&src=hash They are being disheartened by the maintenance time

LOL, I was just wondering about what our Japanese friends thought about it.

Sadly, it is the least of your worries about this game, believe me!
