It feels like I'm leveling up really slowly

I have read different comments, that people said that it only took them 5-6 days to reach to v3 not lvl 50 but v3. And I'm at lvl 17 close too 18 and I have played for one day and five hours. Is it just me that thinks that I'm leveling my character up in a slow pace or is it normal?

Sounds pretty normal to me. Be thankful you're not playing a korean MMO from the late 2000's that takes 7 days worth of grinding 10 hours a day to level up once.

I know! I've taken two months to get to level 45! I don't understand people who say they can level to V ranks in a wknd..... ?

Those players know where to grind and do it excessively - I think, you are doing great if you are lvl 17 with not even 2 days in.

When you are learning the game, have no champion points, are not familiar with the zones, etc. then it can take a really really long time to level up. It was almost a year past launch before I hit VR for the first time (I was leveling lots of alts though).

Now that I've been through all the zones 7 or 8 times over, however, I can usually clear all the important stuff in a zone in a couple hours. Being at CP cap and having a master crafter helps a lot as well.

If it's your first time through the game, don't rush it! Take your time, read the quests, enjoy the beautiful world that ZOS created. You can have up to 11 more characters on your account, plenty of space to learn how to speed level later.

Good advice - I would suggest the same - enjoy your time in Tamriel, don't rush through it - there is only one first time and once it is gone, you will never again have the opportunity to enjoy it like that.

If all you're interested in is getting to max rank then it can be done quickly through grinding. If you want to enjoy the story while questing it will take longer.

True and I'm already enjoying tamriel by doing all the quest that I can find and just exploring around Auridon

Quests. Do ALL of them. Every Delve you find, go in there and defeat the boss. Every Dolmen you haven't seen before, finish it. And if you're researching traits in your crafting, then craft some gear with the Training trait, it'll enhance the xp your gain. I did all this plus spent the first five levels in the Tutorial zone, and I was able to keep pace with every Alliance zone before finally leveling to Lvl50 just before doing the Planar Vortex Quest.

    So, basically in bullet points,

    1. Grind to Level 5 in the Tutorial.
    2. Do EVERY Quest you can find as you play.
    3. Defeat the Boss in EVERY delve you can find.
    4. Craft gear with the Training trait to gain additional xp.
    5. Defeat EVERY Area Boss you find.

Or you could just go into Cyrodiil at Level 10 and hitch rides with Zergs for a while.

@Thessalia just play the game, enjoy the content and level up. Celebrate when you get to milestones. Who wants a game that gives you an endgame character so quick?

    Not me.

But those people probably had no other life while they were doing it - no school, no jobs, no family.... You should just play the game and enjoy it.

SO glad to see so many comments about slow playing it, honestly its the best way. Sure you can do mind numbing grinding to top out if you don't intend to enjoy the journey, but as everyone says here you only get to do it once, button smashing makes it so dull. Leveling is alot faster than it was, I mean you are nearly a 3rs of the way to 50 if u look at it like that! And CP's come fast man, real fast early on

I am new, and do quite the same. The way is the goal on the first run.

I am leveling 4 chars parallel. 1 main crafter and 3 chars for each alliance. My chars have level 30 now. I keep my crafter on par, so that I always got the proper armor and weapons.

While leveling up with main, alliance, sidequest, world bosses and dives I don't really care about leveling or grinding at all. It comes naturally,as it should be in a RPG.

My personal best to reach V1 from the start was 22 hours of gameplay with questing only (collecting SPs and shards).
But that was the toon #12 with the training set.

    Enjoy the game.
