Custom Dye only changed part of the costume

I tried the custom dye station on the female Pirates First Mate costume. The top of the costume never changed colors, it stayed the default color. The pants changed colors. I also thought it was strange that the hat area on the left side did not allow for colors, yet it changed as the pants changed.

I am pretty sure @ZOS_JessicaFolsom there is a bug here.

Have you tried using different color dyes and still get the same result?

I haven't gotten in game to try it for myself yet as I am still updating, but there are some pieces of non costume equipment in game that also have non-dye-able parts. However it wouldn't surprise me if there are some new bugs crawling around, especially since the patch literally just came out.

Yes, I tried many colors, and the random option a dozen times. Its interesting the pants die the hat/headscarf as well, but skip over the top.

The dye breakdown on First Mate is pants and head rope /sash/ head cloth.
On Sash and Bandolier it's pants/sash/shirt.
On Swab it's female shirt and bandolier/sash/pants.

Yes, this makes my point that the top is not part of any dye colors.

I'm sure this was an oversight.

Chances are this issue will be present on other costumes as well in similar ways.

Make sure to report it so it can get fixed!

_Hm, I am bit confused now what the problem actually is - I just have dyed the female version of the outfit with shirt, bandolier and pants and sash - shirt is one slot, sash is the middle slot and pants the right one - iirc. It worked for me, I did that on 2 characters with different colors. I have not tried the other 2 pirate outfits though.

It's not an oversight. The addition of the head cloth on First Mate means they had to remove the bandolier and female shirt from the dye channels. Otherwise they would have to be the same color as either the sash, pants, or head cloth. Or one of those three would have to be removed.

You can dye the bandolier and the female shirt on Swab.

The problem is the costumes have more than three channels. That's why there's variation among the three outfits as to what you can dye and why the boots didn't make the cut in any of them.

Thanks for the detailed information. I did not get a chance to check out the boots.

If this is going to be the "way it is", then they should have documented it, made it consistent, or fixed it.

Seems to me, there is too much inconsistency with how the costume dye system works across the different costumes.
