Refining Dreugh Wax since 1.3.3?

I have done a fair bit of refining since 1.3.3 landed and have yet to get a Dreugh Wax from refining.

I have seen gold materials drop from Ore & Wood refining. I have found Kuta's. I have seen hirelings drop Dreugh Wax but nothing from simple refining of raw materials. Purple/Blue/Green items from medium/light are coming in at the normal sort of rates.

Can anyone confirm that they have had Dreugh Wax drop from raw material refining (not any other method) since 1.3.3 came in? Am I just very unlucky right now or is this related to the patch?

I've gotten a total of three Dreugh Waxes from refining since 1.3. Gonna say you're unlucky here.

Dreugh Wax seems to be, in my experience, the most uncommon refining MAT in the game. I have gotten a total of 1 piece in my entire play through with my main (a NB who is currently VR2). I think the one piece I have came in a hireling mail, but am not sure ... it may have been from refining.

I must say, with the latest patch, even with the passive to increase odds of receiving MATs when refining maxed, I have gotten precious few of any improvement MATs when refining materials. This isn't just confined to Clothing either, my Woodworking passive is maxed as well and the amount of improvement MATs when refining wood seems to have dropped significantly as well.

Maxing a skill doesn't change how random numbers work. You're not guaranteed X many drops over Y many attempts, it's a random chance every time.

I've always tended to see fewer Dreugh Waxes per refinement attempt - but in over 1,500 raw mats would expect to normally see 1 or maybe 2. But RNG can be harsh. I'll probably get 5 tomorrow.

The only Dreugh Waxes I've gotten came from hirelings and fishing.

I am having issues with Kuta's. Havent gotten 1 single Kuta in over a month and that is with 8 enchanting hirelings where 4 have at least Rank 2 Hirelings.

Even spend 2 hours one night farming runes and did not find a single one.

Yeah Kuta seem to have disappeared completely from Tamriel.

I remember geting some wax this week. For me the problem is always rosin.I think I got less then 10 since launch and most were from hirelings. I think it is less then 1 rosin per 5 stacks of wood.

An other 700 raw refined and no Dreugh Wax

I refined/deconstructed 3 gold items and also got none.

Are you folks sure you got them, on EU, after 1.3.3?

I have several guild members who farm and refine saying they have got nothing from cloth/medium refining since this patch came out.

In the past, if I refined a stack of Rawhide leather I had the same change of getting a Dreugh Wax as I would from refining a stack of Shadowhide leather.

Now tho (from my testing, so it could be just random) I get lots of Dreugh Wax from processing Shadowhide but I have got none from processing Rawhide

I'm going to attribute it to bad luck with the RNG. Earlier today, I had 20+ Ironweed and 10 Iron Hide Scraps. That's three refine attempts, and I got two Dreugh Wax out of it. Even on the best of days that's really lucky. Despite that lucky streak... I will say that since 1.3.3 hit the servers, I haven't had any noticeable shortage (compared to usual) of any Legendary Resins/Tannins/Tempers.

True story - I crafted myself a nice piece of Medium armour and upgraded it all the way to purple, then tried to use the dozen or so Dreugh waxes I had collected from hirelings over the past month. I decided to take a risk with a 90% improvement chance for legendary, and sure enough - i lost everything !! that will teach me to be reckless with valuable mats :-)

RNG is a harsh mistress. I got some Dreugh Wax from refining Kresh Fiber last night, but Madam Hireling has been real stingy with Lining/Wax for a while now. Other guildies have luck with the hireling but no luck with refining. But it is like flipping a coin. It never goes heads-tails-heads-tails. It goes in streaks. Should it all even out after 1000 hireling mails or 1000 stacks of 10 refined? Sure. But the sample size over a given week or so is just not enough to revert to the mean.

I don't get a lot of wax. I maybe get 2-3x as much blacksmithing temper.

I get way more wax than the wood one... and I have refined maybe 3x as much wood at vr8+ than anything else (nightwood is everywhere).

Just farmed 11 Kutas 2 weeks ago in a runes collecting rotatio so Kutas are still very present

If you have max upgraded crafting then you have about 1.5% chance per stack of 10. So it is just a question of luck. I had 2 weeks without any drops and then I get 6 in two days.

Dreugh wax is rare yes, but definitely not impossible to get.
I just refined 1k rawhide scraps and got 8 dreugh wax. On an unlucky attempt I get approximately 5 dreugh wax out of 1k-1.1k

well yeah, that as well. but i find if you put them to the sword first they don't wriggle around so much when you set fire to them...
