I have 8mb internet. I am unable to switch providers. I am hard wired. Kinda. My router (RT-AC88U) is connected via powerline wall adapter. While my ps4 is connected to the router via Ethernet cable.
I lag in pve. I freeze and kick out of game in PvP. I feel like a burden to everyone. Hence why I hardly group. But now since I am a guild leader of a newely founded PvP guild. (Will advertise later on PS4 EU guild recruiting) I want to step up my game a little bit. I want to lead. While your guild members getting worried? (Where are you leader! Members asked worried." I been kicked out again. Leader is saddned. "Again! That the 58th time leader! Member expressed shock." I know I know. Sorry. Guild leader pleads to the very ping gods with silent but unsuccessful plea."
So guild leader wonders and wanted to ask this nice people on the forums. Whom is sure that you are all better then the very bad ping gods themselves.
How can I fix my ping on PS4. Is there a way? I saw an article for vpn on ps4. But I worry I will get banned from using vpn. My router (RT-AC88U) has a wtfast thing built in. I think it right name? But I unsure if this work since ESO is not currently supported on router via itself.
But ESO is supported on pc with wtfast. I just worry I will be banned from game. Will I? If I won't get banned for using vpn. What can I do? Which one works on PS4. I also have desktop computer also. If I will get ban. What can I do to fix my ping on PS4 so I won't freeze and kickout? I want to enjoy game. I also live in USA.
Thanks my friendly forum friends.

You could try using a different DNS server, make sure though that the dropped packets are dropped when connected directly to the modem to make sure the problem isn't somewhere else along the line. There is the usual if you are in the US play on the NA server. What kind of connection do you have? Cable, DSL or other. What is your ping round trip and your TTL (time to live)?

Also I would run the ping using the windows utility, start cmd.exe then type ping www.google.com -n 100 (for 100 pings to www.google.com) or if you want to just let it run forever you can do www.google.com -t ctrl r will stop it.
^ the OP never said it was...he just came here for help, knowing there may be a few techies amongst us.
@Serjustwhy / OP - you mentioned a power line wall adapter... Is that like where you root the connection over your internal electricity supply? If so I would 100% check the router direct into the master socket where the connection comes into your house. As I've heard so many ping / latency problems when people use those systems. I assume interference from the house wiring etc.
Quite often its internal wiring that slows your internet speed down. Also try speaking to your provider they may be able to help explain you are getting packet loss etc etc. Or maybe try a ADSL / AV Forum.
In the meantime if you want to run a guild just ensure you have a good officer to help you run gametime things while you get it sorted.
For one, I have had batch file to ping google -t since the early 90's maybe? It was a requirement back in the day.

Correct. There are obstructions. But mainly next door. Lots of apple orchards. Sometimes semi tractor trailer parks in the way. Howeven. My dish is on a pole. Tall enough to get over the semi trailer. But semi hasn't been there for while.
I can watch 720p videos fine. Which is odd. But I lag in pve in eso also.
There is also a tree by house. But it has been trimmed away from dish. Did tgis 3 months ago.
I also tried NA servers also. Having save issues.
I use net analyzer. But confused if this is what you mean for checking received singal. I am sorry.
I also tried turning off my router firewall and port forward recommend ports. It not help also.
However also. I forgot to mention. I recently bought my asus rt ac88u router. Which came preinstalled WTFast thing built in router. I sign up for WTFast. to see if this helps. It worked marvelous. Was able to play Scourge with no lag. Scourge is usually empty campaign on PS4 EU.
However the next day. WTFast quite working for me. Likely I had 14 day trial. However I looked at there website. Elders Scrolls Online is currently supported on WTFast for pc. But not supported via the router.
I've also contacted WTFast support.
They said they are testing Elder Scrolls Game for the router currently. But not sure when they will realease it. But WTFast did help me. On that router somehow.

When evaluating any obstructions between the dish and the sky are you making sure to look at the dish and picture a cone based on the edge of the dish? Videos normally cache some data so the lag might not be noticeable with those. When I say signal I would mean the signal the dish is receiving, I would assume the company you are paying for the service should have some type of management program to tell how much of the signal you are receiving. The other question if zero obstructions would be is the dish pointed at the exact correct location? If not I would assume the signal may be low which could be causing the problems.
Keep in mind ESO is laggy currently especially in high pop campaigns I usually use a campaign that has fewer players so as to avoid the lag mostly. I am not sure how WTFast works I have not used that myself.
The thing is some info is not getting through so the device has to resend that data which would slow down your connection unless wtfast double sends all the data which I would think could take longer.

I believe it were it supposed to be. I think. Unsure which tower it belongs to. There is 4 I believe on the mountain. On the left side of the imaginery cone. There is a tree. 3 ft away from the dish and is trimmed. There is now also a huge stack of apple bins. Stacked on top of each other. 10 ft high? But there behind the shop. Shop is 90 ft away from dish.
Also there is a cable I found. Has a little tear of the black lining. Will this be bad? I also thinking of setting up appointment also. I want to thank you and everyone who has helped me also.

Come to Australia. We can NOT get better than 150ms connecting to US servers EVER!! On average I run at around 250ms ping and manage to play just fine. Yes, I am at a disadvantage in PVP but that just means I have to be a better player.
The game is currently going through an EXTREMELY rough patch at the moment with constant drop outs and severe lag. Wait until they fix it, you'll be fine.

That last statement is absurd, they just need to tell you something and for some this placebo actually works.
