Why does 'Thieves Trove' resonate?

Hi. I'm a new player, and I really just wonder why would those little chests make a single sound? Its not like you open it and you see a litte ballerina dancing, right? :-P

Alright jokes aside. This sound lured me several times, and every single time I reached to see it was a trove I felt slightly dissapointed and frustrated. And it also does not make any sense in any way that, that little chest, or any chest (unless it's magical?) makes any sort of sound. But it's not a magical chest, it's a thieves related thing, so.. wouldn't it make more sense if, besides being in sort of ""unreacheable"" places / hidden and what not, it also wouldn't make any sound?

So yea.. thats it. Why does it resonate? Why does it have any sound at all? Are there other chests with sound too?
Those are questions I cant avoid to ask myself and I coulnd't find any thread related to the trove's sound.

Ty for reading..

Peace.

I'd say is to help you locate them? With the blue smokey dust around it and the ballerina music it makes easier to find them I guess.

It does that to annoy you into opening it.

Seriously, though, it makes it a lot easier to find them and crack them open, if you've got the DLC. Honestly, if you don't, they shouldn't even be visible, in my opinion.

I have my audio turned way down due to oversensitive hearing  I have never heard them or the books hum

Sometimes they are tucked inside buildings or in obscure locations so actually it's nice to have some kind of audible clue that one is nearby. It took me awhile to be able to tell the difference between Nirnroot and the troves :) And sorry, probably 90% of the players actually LIKE to find the troves :P

The person who makes them probably likes Nirnroot.

Anyone else picks Nirnroot up not only in ESO, but also in past TES games JUST to make them shut up?

Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.

    Meet my characters:
    Command: Do the thing.

Zadarri, Khajiit Fist of Thalmor: The thing was done, as commanded.
Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.
Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.
Ellaria Valerius, Imperial priestess: I'll pray to the Eight for the thing to be done, if it is Their will.

That is why I harvest Nirnroot...just to shut it up.

Agreed. They are too small to be seen without the blue glow and the sound. Production needed for them to make noise and glow for everyone so that it would encourage people to buy the DLC, otherwise, they would not appear until the Guild skill line was learned.

It's an add to get the DLC.

    "Ad." But, yeah, I agree.

I originally was under the impression they weren't even visible to players without the skill line... until I started finding them on other characters who hadn't run the TG intro quest.

I can also find those things in a big chest and it doesn't hum, nor give any hints of it location. It shouldn't have to either. Unless again, it were magical. It would make sense if Runes humed, you know. :)
