Champion points & Bastion?

Can anyone explain how this "skill" works? If i have a shield that absorbs 10k dmage and put lots of points into Bastion, why does the shield still say it only absorbs 10k damage? o.O

    I 'think' CP points don't update the tooltip on anything. Its added afterwards. At least that's what I was told when I asked the same question months ago.
