Devs, Please let us have option to omit the silly stupid hip flap things on armor. Thank you.

As title. Can't find more than 3 total lv 10 crafting chest items that don't have these silly things (In any weight, EVEN light) and of those 3, none of them 'dye' well (They do not match, no matter how I color them, with any other piece)

What ruins if for me are those stupid things that 'float' next to your hips(and below belt, etc) and flop/flap around uselessly (Yet are somehow not attached to anything)

Please, ffs, Just let us REMOVE them.

Or, make them look attached to the character, rather than two lumps of shiny cardboard floating on this one's hips.

saw someone with a shield on his back the earlier...or rather, floating behind him.

Seriously I thought we had a decent art department but after seeing what they rolled out with the breton hero costume, I'm starting to wonder if they 'fired off' all their decent artists to save money.

Agreed, they're ugly and destroy any chance of getting a 'sleek' appearance.

The hip flaps on the Daedric Light Armor are ridiculously too large.

    They're almost comically large.

    Looks horrible.

We have a toggle to hide our helmets, why not add a toggle to hide the hip-mud-flaps?

Geeee whiz, I can't agree more. I think I've been complaining about this on the forums for two years now, along with some other people. I just don't get it. They are ugly, they usually don't actually connect to the body. Why do we still have them?

I vote to have them removed.

It would help with Lag I would think not having to render those flappy hip flaps.

    No.

And I say no because without them, a lot of the armour would just look like skin tight catsuits. Medium especially.

And? And before you go on and on about armor and realism flip through the costumes we can already wear and fight in.

Adding a toggle to turn these on and off doesnt affect the way you want to look.

I think they understand the dislike of these armor pieces. In the past year they have generally been more discrete, missing or smaller.

For example they look nice on the Covenant plate armor and on the outlaw armors.

Yes. The floating bits look awful and so out of place on some armors.

It does them no favors that they sit inches away from the character model with no means of attachment.

    This, I can agree with.

Especially the Outlaw armor. The hip flaps meld quite well with the rest of the Motif in that one.

A toggle? Fine. However, I think without bits to break up the design, purely because of how a lot of the armours are designed, would not look good.

If we're removing armor pieces for the sake of frame rates. We might as well just control a skin tight human figure, it would help with the fps and not have to worry about the art aspect.

One problem I have is the proportions being wrong on the armor when you have those bulky hip flaps and wear a Monster set, I think the bulky hip flaps look fine as long as you've got two bulky shoulders to balance out the look, but with one shoulder it just looks funny.

For me, I either want to be able to Transmog (or being able to Convert to Imperial would do) my Monster set (I hide the helmet anyway so all I really care about are the shoulders), or have the ability to toggle off all the bits of armor that float freely.

My problem is the proportions, and balance is how to fix it, which can be achieved either by restoring the bulky shoulders or removing the bulky flaps and plates, they'd be wildly different looks but the one thing they have in common is they are both balanced (the single odd shoulder piece looks fine as long as it's the only bulky protrusion, and I use the Engine Guardian on all my characters so it's not all that builky anyway compared to some).

I get that people like having visual cues for what armor people are wearing, but Costumes already make that argument irrelevant, there's no good reason for us not to be able to alter the style of things to make them look however we want. And anyway there's already a visual cue for most (if not all) monster sets already when their ability activates, and if any don't have one then they can be given one, so there's other ways for you to be informed about your enemies' gear without spoiling the opportunity for everyone to be able to customize their appearance however they please.

It'd be a *** move, but honestly I dislike how it looks so much that I'd pay twice that in a heartbeat to either get Transmog or the ability to hide floaty bulky bits.

A side thought albeit slightly off topic, I'd be satisfied in a pinch with the abilty to have Monster sets to have two Shoulders equipped instead of just the one, obviously I'm only talking a cosmetic change, but it would look good enough to be getting on with I think, and it would certainly be balanced.

Hip flaps are great on Khajiit Medium! Hip flaps are great on Khajiit Light Robe! Hip flaps are pretty terrible on Khajiit Light Jerkin. :-( It's like running around with a pair of oversized oven mits dangling from your belt.

You may wanna take a look at some real armor before asking ZOS to remove something and I dont mean real fantasy armor either those "hip flaps" are called faulds and in some cases were only attached to the main body piece of armor by leather straps or were worn as part of a belt.
