Can we get cloth simulation?

I've been wanting it in ESO for a long time. I want to like the new Breton Hero armor, and I think it would be possible if only we had cloth simulation. I'm kind of curious why the decision was made to not really include it with the game. I guess because Skyrim didn't have it?

I'm not a developer but I feel cloth animation times 12+ people would just poo all over this game's engine.

I think they explained it once that they cant do it because of game mechanics in general, something that they dont have the mechanics to create things"flowy" (read it from another user a while ago so I dont know for sure either!)... But you do know the long hair that we get right?... It doesnt exactly flow but it does flip back and forward! And just that by itself would have already been so much better than what they did so I dont understand it either...

Hell, I'd settle for a stiff cloak/cap that's separated from the back of our legs, let alone "flowy" cloth simulation.

Sticky-Peed-On-Toilet-Paper-That-Sticks-To-The-Back-Of-Your-Legs Cape does not constitute "Hero" quality costume, IMO.
TL;DR - If you got this far without reading the entire post you're either too lazy or suck at reading comprehension and probably don't belong in a public forum anyway. Just move along, you wouldn't understand.

I'd be okay with some extra bones to "resemble"/emulate cloth simulation too, that'd be totally cool.

Also, in terms of impact on performance (I'm pretty sure I'd be fine, myself, lol) you could just have it as a toggle-able option. EQ2 did something like that, and back when I had a low-end PC I would toggle it off for raiding.

IIRC, development on ESO started before Skyrim released. It's probably part of why there are the significant geological differences between ESO's version of The Rift and Eastmarch, and Skyrim's version of those areas.

MMOs tend to enter release as a kind of Frankenstein's monster of different technologies and limitations to begin with. I forget exactly when ESO went into production. I want to say it was 2008 or 2009, but I'm not sure.

It might even be longer, dependent on what you see as the start of development - just thinking about it could be the start or just when the staff for it is actually hired - Rich Lambert talked about this in a webcast and how he came to ZOS - the whole thing is in progress for quite some time and I doubt that 5 years does it justice, I guess it is more like 7 or 8 years in the making.
