This seems to be happening to me here and there which started a few days ago. When I'm in a fight, particularly seem to happen more while running dolmen, my greatsword would get stuck in a position above my head (like it is ready to strike from above). I can still move around, though, while my arms and greatsword are stuck in that position. All the while, I'm pressing all kinds of attack buttons. It would last, I don't know, anywhere from 5-10 seconds. I would still get attacked by the enemy or enemies, but seem the cool thing is, once I am finally unfroze from that position, I go into a flurry of swings and skill attacks. I guess from me repeatedly meshing all those buttons during my stuck mode. It was so fast and so cool.. but just so annoying during the time I am stuck in that position. So every time, since, I would get stuck like this, I would keep meshing the buttons and wait for the blitzkrieg to occur right after being unfroze. Anything of this sort happening to anyone else?

    Yeah this has happened to me as well with my bow, I wouldn't call it cool though. I'm pretty sure you can just use dodge roll to get out of it, or at least that's what I do

    one time something similar happened to me on my bow. I hopped up on a rock and I couldn't heavy attack. However when I held down the trigger my bow shot light attacks on rapid fire. I am talking like 5-10 shots in a second(not exaggerating). I thought it was cool and someone asked me how I was doing that to my reply I said no idea just jumped up on this rock.

    EDIT: unfortunately no enemies near by to see how much damage was being done in those hits or how fast an enemy would die.

    This used to happen when Charge failed to execute. The character would get stuck in that position until something came along and knocked some sense into it. I thought they fixed that, or at least made it so that it did not happen as much. I don't use 2H as much as I used to.

    Someone did it to me the other day. He stood there while I dodge rolled out of his meteor then I just died to a toppling charge, sweeps and Radiant. I saw 0 of it.

    Ahhh.. ok, I haven't thought about dodge rolling to get out of it. If that seemed to work, I will try it, but probably only if happens in a group fight in a dungeon or something. I like the flurry. So, I may continue to mesh the buttons for the blitzkrieg when I 'm in a fight or doing dolmen by myself. Hopefully, I'm not stuck for min or so more at a time, however. Egh!

    Yeah, this happened to me too. It rapid fires light shots after holding down the charge, or sometimes during a world boss fight, my light arrow shots seemed to quit for a bit.

    Sounds like the same problem where destro and resto staffs heavy and light attacks can become stuck in an animation and after some time everything is running fast track where you are in game. Something have happened since they changed how animation work.

    More annoying is it when my Valkyn Skoria (monster set) proc with a fire animation after I have already killed something with DoTs. It makes it very hard to know when you need to use a skill as enemy have already been killed, but the visual isn't showing it until some seconds later when fire from sky animation are being triggered as the last phase of that fight.

    Right now it is more of guessing game to know what is going on then actually use visual information to adjust for which skill/ability to use at the right moment. I think it worked better before Zenimax made those changes with DB.

    This is happening on Wired connection, so it have nothing to do with low PING.

    What you describe looks like you get stuck in casting the 2h gapcloser. If you observe this should happen when doing this. Sometimes happens to me too. Need to start mashing buttons than to be called animation cancelling hacket xD

    its a bug i see most on crit charge animation doesnt complete. stuck with sword above head.. I get this ALOT

    I have also experienced a few times what @Brrrofski describes, dying to an avalanche of attacks that all occur immediately afterwards a critcharge. and i see none of them go off.

    I wonder if its the animation changes causing it. or the changes to charge routing.

    i admit this is for heavy attacks, but does a similar thing occur for actual attacks which can be cancel with bash/block?
    could you have a window where the animation has failed to complete (seems with the changes to charges route mechanic, it is rare you get the whole stunted half jerk failed to charge animation). and within this failed animation limbo is this phase where you can launch your next attack, and it goes off, but it wont actually fire till the animation finishes.

    then the animation finishes and all the moves that are queued up fire as one.
    I also think perhaps its like the snipe glitch people use to do. cast snipe, interrupt snipe animation (i dont know how it was done, blocking?) and then que another snipe up. and another. eventually the animation ends probably by time out and pew pew pew, all your snipes fire to 1 shot the enemy.

    It is the Critical Charge animation failure.
