Is there an alternative to this pvp?

I like the fantasy element and having skills but it's just a button mashing spamfest. I was hoping for stuff like body position, timing, tactics, speed, power and accuracy to come more into play.

Seriously?!?! Stop trolling or start putting in the hours needed to get some skills in the things u mentioned above. Eso pvp takes a long time to master. U will get rekt again and again until you learn. Seems you just need some more practise dude.

So far other option is to find a dueling guild or something till arenas and or battlegrounds are added and seeing ZoS track record might be awhile before they are added.

There no real satisfaction in the pvp fight mechanics. Even if they add a dueling element it's polishing up junk.

So basically what you are saying here is you are dissatisfied in PvP in general, be it 1v1, 1vX, or XvX?

Do wanna say I do not mind the X v X but well X v X does tend to lead to some game crashes :p But when it doesn't it is quit fun got sssooo many killing blows using the scattershot catapult and flaming oils that way.

Neverwinter anyone? (Just released on ps4)
Havent tried it yet, but sure looks promising

Not personally, but if my prior experience with Cryptic is any indication (and judging by the comments I've seen from people who actually played it, it is), you're looking at a very P2W focused game, that will hard block you from content unless you crack open your wallet and cough up some cash.

It appears OP is looking for a hand-to-hand combat ego "shooter". Or maybe a mortal kombat style duel game.

In any case, ESO is not the game type you're looking for *RPG style impersonation of a science fiction block buster character handwave*

This. If he is comparing an FPS to the PvP in an adventure MMORPG, he really is playing the wrong game.

You're going to have to wait until next year bud. Right now the PvP is pretty sour. Hopefully they're do a good job with the dueling and battleground system.

What?!? I was asking if their are any good pvp games out or coming out. This gms pvp is awful in my opinion. It's lacking in end game skill. In most games positioning, striking first and accuracy are really important. With this gm not soo much. Stealth detection is pitiful so you can sneak fairly close to an opponent and most skills don't require any difficulty aiming. About as difficult as looking at the person. The most skilled part of pvp in this gm is using the terrain to your advantage. I'll give people credit on that. It can be hard to do but with dodge roll being soo boss right now most stam builds can roll 4 or 5 times without running out of stamina.

Soo you have the duelist who fire off the same skill rotation at each other and this seems to never get old to them. OK well for me it got old very quickly.

Then there is the group battles in cyrodil. But cyrodil is really just all about resource tower spamming. Every time I log on, I spend hours fighting my opponents there. I know it's not an exploit but it's just an awful game design. Usually there's 20 or so guys sitting safely inside an indestructible tower spamming attacks at a door, hoping someone will walk through it.

So you see I'm stuck. Dueling is repetitive and group battles at some point leads to tower spamming. either way I'm just sitting around. Would be nice to find a game that doesn't spoon feed people some of the most important aspects of combat.

It would be great if this game created battlegrounds. Of course it would kill cyrodil and nobody would miss it.

No git gud/l2p comments so far?

    You guys disappoint me.

(BTW, the spam is strong in this tread).

As someone who enjoyed PvP in MMOs more than PvE by a ton, this isn't a PvP based game. Not as it is

A PvP based game doesn't have one PvP mode anyway lol

I think your problem is that you're expecting player skill to play a greater part when in MMO's it's all about character skill with the player being able to move around pressing 1234, repeat.

Games like CoD are predominantly player skilled and much more fast paced...there's really no comparison.

You could try Chivalry as it's somewhat a blend of both styles but the devs didn't quite get it right.

Let me explain like you are a four year old

... Numbers. Time spent in game. Champion points. Yeah, this is all needed to win in Cyrodiil and whoever has the most of these three things will win. Its an MMO. The more time you spend grinding the better you will be.
    -HOWEVER-

Any game where there are massive battles- those battles take no skill whatsoever. Take Eve online for example. We can all agree it's a 'hardcore' game right? Those massive internet spaceship battles you hear about are simply 1,000 players pressing 'F1'. No skill. None at all. However in Eve there are smaller fights that take tremendous amounts of skill- 8v8 or even 1v1. These small battles are won by students of the game who have found the best combinations, the best tactics, and can work together seamlessly. This applies to ESO as well. In a castle siege you will find yourself spamming 1234. However if you are ganking reinforcements to a castle siege with a small raiding party you will get a lot more out of your PvP experience.

So in the end if you don't like giant battles go find people to fight solo. If you don't want to do that go play cod.

I have a god complex. Don't judge. Or do judge. I will thus proceed to smite you.
