Design or bug? Dyes not properly representing color palate

Currently it seems that as the higher the materials used, the more unsaul the color palate is turned into. On end game rubedo gear for example, attempting to dye red will give a light pinkish color and blues will turn into a light grey color. I noticed on attempting to replicating a color scheme of a lower teir armor set from the same style, the same colors turned out to be vastly different compared to the previous one and it just looks silly because the dyes appear not as advertised. Is there a planned fix to give all armor types a standard color palate? I noticed the rare quality dyes seem to more strongly resemble their actual pictures and the lower level dyes seem to suffer the most of this color weirdness.

Every material and every Racial Style takes Dyes Differently. No one dye looks the same on two different pieces. Its kind of nice in some ways, but in others, like if you have a favorite color palette, not so much. I stopped creating color templates a long time ago.

Yes, Ruby materials have the least desirable effects from Dyes, not sure what they can do about that. Red seems to be the absolute worst, I can't find a Red Dye that looks good on Ruby, ironic as that sounds. I now stick to Grays, Silvers, Blacks, Purples and the like. Blue is not much better than Red on top end mats either. I have Dyes unlocked in all 3 tiers and it does not seem to really matter what Tier I pick them from. Its just a matter of trying different things until you find something you like. I have even gone to Randomizing a few times to see what other colors I might not like normally would look like. For example, the vile green color you get from Alchemy, looks bad on most things, but looks really good on Primal and Barbaric.

I am hoping that they open up all crafting materials to all levels and the amount of mats used determines the levels of the gear, but that is a dream.

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

I feel like their should be a material type category which determines the accuracy of color dyes incase someone wants to choose more accurate color or colors that they liked from a previous tier as rubedo isn't cutting it for me

It is by (poorly thought out) design. All colors should look the same no matter what material they are applied to. This is a perfect example of how ZOS overthinks simple ideas.

    Silivren (Silly) Thalionwen | Altmer Templar | Magicka | 9-Trait Master Crafter/Jeweler | Master Angler | PVE Main - Killed by U35

Oh and sometimes even same material, same style I have to use a different "red" on shoulders than legs.
Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.
    ***
Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis

Outlaw armor dyes perfectly. The biggest difference on whether armor seeks to dye well is if ZOS considers what you're dyeing to be a metal. Metal dyes horribly and with no consistency. This is most noticable when it comes to shields... despite being made of wood.

heavy armor has been virtually undyable since release, it lightens every single color to the extreme. Red to pink, black to barely grey, and dont get me started with violet
