Unable to get WW bite?

Hey, I have been unable to get turned into a werewolf by anything player, despite being bit dozens of times. I've had 3 different people try to bite me, and it didn't work for any of them. We tried doing the whole "re-enter the shrine area " thing and having me stand right in front of the skull on the shrine, but the damn thing still won't work, anyone else experiencing this?

And no, I'm not a vampire, before anyone asks.

So to be clear you tried entering the quest zone after getting bitten and it didn't work?

Do you by chance have the vampire debuff, which allows you to do the vampire quest? You can only have one of those, and aside from that I couldn't imagine what else would be stopping you.

Nope, don't have the vampire debuff either. And yeah Joe, I'm at the shrine where you get the quest, but when people bite me nothing happens other than me getting the Devour active effect, no quest marker or anything.

What does it say in your active effects?

I have seen something like this with vampires.

Just a suggestion.

Go to the nearest mob/npc/creature and die on purpose ( make sure u have soul gem ). Then try to get bitten again.

There was a few times I couldn't give someone a vampire bite, and the last person said "hold on". She left, died, and then came back and everything worked.

Bryan, all it says in my active effects after I get bit is "Devour".

And I'll have to try that LulzSec.

You have to read the quest book in your inventory I think.

Yeah, I've run into this a couple times. The Devour debuff is something you should never see (short of being devoured while you're actually in the character menu). It's supposed to be replaced with the lycanthropy buff as soon as the devour animation finishes playing. For whatever reason, your character is currently bugged, though I'm not exactly sure why or how.

I seem to recall that death does fix this, but it's been awhile since I've run across it.

Ah the good old devour glitch! There is a way to fix this, tested it myself. You simply have to die. And this removes the devour effects inside your character screen.

It will then be possible to be bitten again.

Also, as a precaution, (if you are low level <10), unequip all your armour and weapons, and then get the werewolf player to bite you. It should work then.

Okay so what I ended up doing was just tying to get bit on a different character, and it worked on the first try. So if I try it on my other character sometime later then I'll try what you guys suggested, but still thanks for the help everyone and hopefully this can help anyone else who runs into the same problem.

@Stovahkiin please let me know if the problem was resolved

It sounds like this bug has returned recently, since my brother tried to give a werewolf bite to someone the other day and it did the same thing. My suggestion worked again where they must kill the character to remove the spammed devour effects, and then remove all armour and weapons to be bitten.

I had a issue, that I got bitten and the quest portal did not spawn, I had to reload UI more times to make it spawn, also when I entered the WW area trough the portal, there were some issues that I needed to solve by reloading UI (or maybe even log out and relog in, I am not sure now). But it was maybe half year ago, so maybe that got fixed already..

Well Altemriel I didn't have any problems other than not being able to get bit for a while, so I would assume that those other problems have been fixed by now.

And Glaeciana I still haven't tried to get bit on my character that was bugged since I actually lost interest in it (DKs aren't my thing I guess) but yes it does seem like this issue may be starting to flare up again, but if the fix works then I guess we just need to keep doing it until Zeni throws enough stuff at the bug to kill it lol.
