Are you likely to buy Dyes from the crown store once you know how they work?

No need. Even if a dye pack contains a dye I do not have it will not be worth the crowns when I can dye my costume a different shade of that color that looks similar. Example: Ophidian Jade vs. Falinesti Green

And there are a lot of permutations of the stamps (18 on PTS currently) so if it's yellow/green/gray on one, there's probably a green/yellow/gray, a gray/green/yellow, a yellow/gray/green, and so on. Not every combo, but a lot of them. There's a good chance that if you want colors channels swapped, there's a stamp for that.

    yeah I was wondering....
if they have the different variations of the dye pack, I can see people using them to "fix" costumes that are currently the wrong dye for a particular character.
Not as good as being able to do the full custom dye, but better than nothing.

I have no interest in costumes and therefore have no interest in dyes for them. Now weapon dyes, that would be different, but I'd expect them to be available in the normal way as for armour and shields rather than through ESO+ or the Crown Store.

Nah. I'll sub for a month and use the dyes I've accumulated through achievements.

Nope. 0%. Doesn't interest me one bit. And I'm even subbed. Kinda insulting that they think we are stupid enough to pay for that imho. But whatever, plenty of other things worth spending my crowns on.

Because dye packs will not be under 1000 Crowns each.

If I decide to dye my costumes, I'll sub for a month to do it. Good selection of fully customizable dyes, 1500 crowns back - there's no downside. Dye stamps are too limiting in comparison. They're cheap, I'll give them that, but in every other respect it's an awful system.

I wonder if this isn't the plan...
Release something so awful (Dye Stamps) that people would rather sub instead of buying them, and then hope that they won't drop their sub after getting used to stuff like the Crafting Bags and the costume dye system itself.
You're probably right. I suspect we're also never again going to see an improvement to the vanilla inventory system becoming more unmanageable with every update.

What are you talking about? The cheapest stamps start at 50 crowns.

Meh, I sub. Doesnt matter to me, but I am also a jerk that thinks non-subs should have inferior products. I continue to support them while you support yourself and what you want.

Nope. When I go to a store I expect to buy things permanently. If stores start going out of their way to inconvenience me unless I pay them a monthly fee or take my items away. I don't shop there when the store next door has better prices, permanent purchases, and tries to woo me by making me feel my experience is most important and re-visiting the store is more important to them not tom-foolery.

I also sub, at least on my main account, and have since the game launched/subs became available. However it was ZOS's decision to go B2P, a decision I strongly disagreed with. Nevertheless, I feel like if a game is worth playing it's worth a sub so I've continued to maintain mine all along.

None of this means that those who go along with the model ZOS chose to establish should get price gouged. Nor does it excuse shoddy workmanship (such as many of the costumes that distort your character's shape) or terrible implemmentation of systems that are paid systems.

I would HOPE that ZOS wil eventually implement colors that are NOT available in game for this system. I think they will need to in order for it to actually make them any money. I just also hope they don't make the poor decision to make those "exclusive" dyes a thousand crowns a pop.

I don't think so. I have nice dyes already and I am not that picky. If they release an amazing color or something that really makes it worth to buy it, then why not? I am sub and I have more than 9k crowns and I don't even know what to spend them on.

I would be very apprehensive knowing that Dyes are not showing up correctly on certain materials (i.e rubedo and ancient silks).

    Very unlikely.

Like others, I would rather sub for a month to have complete control, then cancel the sub. I get a few crowns out of the deal, and since I haven't had access to the crafting bag yet, I can also clean a LOT of inventory space up.
