Seriously though, the levels of avoidance being shown on this topic are ridiculous. A dev cannot just recognise a bug and then several months later hide in the hopes it goes away again. It's not good customer service to blank us, it's not good QC to ignore it and it certainly doesn't engender a lot of faith.

This is part of the communication issues I see with ZOS.

It shouldn't be hard for them to make a post here saying something, either "not sure what happened will look into it and come back to you" or to actually give an answer.

To have a thread bumped every day (which is against forums rules!) but still nothing said is bad communication.

I wonder if it's against forum rules because it means it's harder to ignore threads like this? They've responded on both of them several months ago, recognised it was an issue at the time and said it would get fixed. Now what? Just ignored them and hope it goes away?

By and large I'm very happy with the way this game has gone and is run, but this really rankles, and it's not on.

Happy monday guys! Please can we get recognition that this is still a thing and hasn't been addressed now in months? The eta was originally the next major patch - that was DB and you've been ignoring us ever since :(

This is yet another example of why folks get frustrated and sometimes short with ZOS devs.

This is an issue going on for more than 2 months, it has been confirmed. We were told it would be addressed next update. The next update has come and gone. The issue has not been addressed, and not one peep from ZOS about it.

You all just misread the quote. What they meant was the orignal run speed was not intended and has been fixed with the patch. Done and done.

It is insane that we are still dealing with this.

It's not only this bug, of course. There are literally dozens of major bugs that have gone unfixed for months. For example:

    - this movement bug since 2.3
    - approx 50% FPS drop bug since 2.2 (ZOS won't even comment on that)
    - Cyrodiil load screens since at least 2.2
    - memory hacking and other forms of cheating *since launch*
    - etc

It is well-known that most of the gaming press is composed of shills. This has been true since the 90s. However, it is possible Gawker is a bit different. I encourage everyone to write the editors of Kotaku and share with them your opinion of how ZOS handles bugs and cheating in ESO.

ZOS is obviously comfortable with this status quo. We must find ways to shake them out of it.

There are more important, game breaking bugs that need the devs attention.

Seeing a thread with 200 people tagging ZOS every 5 minutes to get their attention, all because they feel a bit slower when they run? I mean cmon.

The issue here is really a representation of frustration with all the bugs that have fallen to the wayside in the last few months. We get an acknowledgement and then not even a peep once a major update comes and goes. Swap the bug/thread and the comments are generally similar.

This thread, like so many other on the forums, has lost it's original base intent of pointing out a bug, and evolved into a post illustrating again the lack of communication that ZOS has with its players. It's all sunshine and rainbows on the ESO live updates, but when players come in here and actually take the time to read posts like these, posts about exploits and bugs, and general unhappiness within the community about the game, you realize that (duh) Zenimax is in it just for the money. And so long as their actions continue to generate revenue, they aren't going to waste resources on anything that isn't going to bring in more money.
If this issue (or the others that seem to be getting no response from ZOS) were actually to become a threat to their money, they would get fixed faster, but the majority of players are just happy to play the game as is. So this and other issues will go unanswered.

Uhm. Movement is part of combat too... Heh. But besides that, you are kind of insane for posting in a thread about a major issue to essentially say, "stop discussing this issue because a different issue is more important to me!!"

Here's a reasonable compromise: We can discuss each in separate threads! I think this forum has the functionality to enable such a radical concept.

Movement - the one thing in game you do more than combat. More than absolutely anything else actually.

I've managed to rack up 20 years in the software development business. I've seen it done all ways, but by far the best way to release changes IMHO is little and often. I have no idea whether this approach suits ZOS/ESO or not, and its not really my business anyway, but it is what bitter experience has taught me. In any case, I have no particular grievance with the way changes are currently released. But to sit on a fix for so long is a real pity.

Hi everyone, thanks for your patience in this thread. To give you an update, this is still an issue (as you're well aware) and something we would still like to fix, but currently isn't a high priority due to other bugs the team is working on. We understand this isn't ideal, but keep in mind this is a global issue so everyone has the same movement speed reduction - and for what it's worth, the reduction is very slight compared to what it used to be. Not trying to sweep the issue under the rug, but just tossing out some food for thought.

We'll let you know when we have an update.

i cant trust anymore... no eta, no fix...

Yep, we are aware and it's not intended. We're still working on a fix for it, which will likely be included in the next major update.

@ZOS_GinaBruno Any chance broken Mementos might be fixed with that major update? The word on that has been very quiet as well.

Here we are at 5 months roughly since this was addressed, two major patches have been released, handful of incremental patches...and yet...there's been no update.

Can someone at ZOS just be honest already and admit this was intended as a stealth nerf and its not ever going to be fixed? I mean at least own up to it already. Or get it fixed. One or the other.

There is another option - I'm in the market for a software job; I'm available for consultation on fixing this bug :P
