Thieves guild dailies (pickpocketing, etc)

So these are proving to be pretty bad. I'm trying to collect the abah's watch motif, so I do these stupid dailies and get nothing in the reward, copper measures worth 400 gold, and end up with hefty bounties. This is the reason I stopped doing the dark brotherhood dailies. It's almost a guaranteed bounty. Ridiculous. Anyone else noticing this?

I never get a bounty... but I'm a careful thief

You can invest some skill points and a set of detect radius reduction gear, and become almost invisible to NPCs. And be veeeeery careful with timing and surroundings if the pickpocket chances are low.

In my case, being Khajiit helps too.

Even at 60% and 85% my pickpocketing fails and I end up just stacking bounties

It also has a horrible drop rate it seems, and I always do the maximum rewards.

Keep practicing and leveling up the "legerdemain" skill line! I also got a bounty every single time i did the dailies before, but now I get away with (almost) everything

Have you tried raising legerdemain, so that your pick-pocketing bonus is as a high as possible?

Have you noticed that pickpocketing is actually a timed mini-game? (If you wait, you'll get a temporary boost to the odds, that should put you in a comfortable range to swipe.)

Have you purchased the kickback passive (from Legerdemain) that causes your actual bounty costs to be reduced?

Have you purchased the passive from Thieves Guild that increases the speed at which your bounty ticks down?

Have you noticed that against some targets the odds to pickpocket are 100%?

Have you noticed that you can pickpocket the same target multiple times at a -25% chance penalty each time?

have you ever pickpocket someone, when there is no one else around, and your pickpocket success rate is 100% (before it even turns green). so you pick the pocket & get a bounty?

or is my character just really bugged?

If you wish to just farm the dailies then I recommend doing only The Covetous Countess. All this really has you do is stockpile anything you need for the quest so you can bounce back and forth to deliver and collect. Keep any rewards that are needed for this quest to keep it going infinitely.

It's worth checking with the DB contact in any thieves den. She gives you something every 20hrs, one of which is something that helps 'be less noticeable' I have got a few monks costumes and leniency edicts.
Also do thieves guild tasks before you log off, then don't pay the bounty. Bounty usually gone when you log in next day. Unless your very very naughty.
I also steal 'a lot' when I'm in a restricted area, tonnes of greens in drawers, bags, etc. These all add up.

Doing the daily dark brotherhood for me is actually kinda fun. I play the loud and dumb route. I've started to use my werewolf ability to do the job.

I really don't care for the bounties anyways. I kinda like the guards not liking me LOL.

But anyhow the daily grinding for both factions pretty much SUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK!

As @UltimaJoe777 has said, only do "The Covetous Countess". For the first few items, go to Daggerfall Town, and to the two ships parked up in the docks near the Guild Traders. Both ships are completely unguarded, and full of stealable items which can then be laundered in the Outlaws Den which is in the docks right near the ships! After the first two or three quests, the large laundered goods bag will have given you items you need for all the future quests. Keep your inventory clear enough for you to build a reasonable stock of these things, and then all you wil need to do is just merely deliver the items every time. No bounty, no stealing, just back and forth.

Well, there was a pre-release bug in Skyrim, where the chickens could report crimes to the guard.

I have never gotten any motif from doing the pickpocketing dailies, and I've maxed the achievement requirement.

What they should REALLY do is offer one and ONLY 1 choice each day (like all other dailies) but up the drop rate on the motif to reward you for doing the much more time consuming pickpocket ones.

As for the OP.......I have at worst a 10% pickpocket fail rate and if I get 92 bounty I have to wait all of about 2 mins and the bounty is cleared (or if I am impatient and have more I use one of the 100+ edicts I have gotten from this daily to remove it)

Fully max out your Legerdemain.

It's not abusing the system lol also Abah's Watch has a pretty low obtainment rate so farming a quest that IS farmable and working as intended to raise your chances to get the chapters is perfectly fine.

every 4-5 ish quest, I got a motif.
Its possible to not get a bounty.

There's a bug with pick pocketing . While you maybe stealthed and at 80-90% chance , if you are slightly to the right or left of the target , the animation drags you in closer and you get discovered by the NPC vision cone .

Try only on targets you can get directly behind and hold the key that will move you back in the direction you started if possible . It doesn't always fix the animation drag but it's better then nothing .

Well, yes it is. Drop and pick up until you get what you want? yeah it's silly. You can't do that with any other repeatable quests.

You should pull ONE job from the board and until that one is complete you don't get another. No cherrypicking.

If this was done they could then INCREASE the drop rate.
