I've been playing EvE online for a long time now- but am finally picking up ESO again. Eve has a permanent player count of 30,000 accounts, half of which are probably alts. So with that in mind how does the (N/A server) player count of ESO stack up? Is it the same sort of deal with 15,000 actual players more or less between all three factions? More per faction? Does anyone even know?

Unless Zenimax actually comes out and tells us (which they won't) there is no way to know. Best bet is wait for One Tamriel later this year when factions will all be brought closer together.

We don't have actual numbers about players population. All we have as official number is that ESO had 7 million players ( copies sold). How much of them plays actively, we don't know. The game is quite lively on NA tho.

You just pretty much explained it to yourself lol

Every player in every faction. Every zone in the game battle-leveled. No barriers whatsoever preventing free roaming.

    One Tamriel, free for all.
    One Tamriel to excite them.
One Tamriel to bring them all,
And in the wilderness amaze them!

Yeah, pretty much. No matter your difference in level, too.

It's outlined in this news post: http://www.elderscrollsonline.com/en-us/news/post/2016/06/12/matt-firors-message-from-be3

That's also the post where the "7 million" was announced, which, yeah, should be taken with a grain of salt. Game's a healthy size, though.
    Living vicariously through my characters.

    My Girls:
"If you were trapped in your house for, say, a year, how would you pass the time?"

Nephikah the Houseless, dunmer assassin: "I suppose I could use the break. I have a lot of business holdings now that need management."
Swum-Many-Waters, elderly argonian healer: "I think that I would enjoy writing a memoir."
Silh'ki, khajiit warrior-chef: "Would this one be able to go outside, to the nearby river? It's hard to fish without water!"
Peregrine Huntress, bosmer hunter: "Who is forcing me to stay inside, and where can I find them?"
Lorenyawe, altmer mechanist: "And why would I want to go outside in the first place? Too much to be done in the workshop."
Lorelai Magpie, breton master thief: "I'd go nuts. Lucky for me, I have a little experience sneaking out!"
Rasheda the Burning Heart, redguard knight: "I would continue my training to keep my skills sharp."
Hex-Eye Azabi, khajiit daedric priestess: "I suppose it would be lucky, then, that I built a shrine to Mephala in my backyard."
Yngva Stormhammer, nord bandit (reformed...ish): "I hate being inside even when I'm not forced to be. GET. ME. OUT."
Madam Argentia, vampire dunmer aristocrat: "I suppose it would be more of the same. I have a rather... contentious relationship with the sun."
Mazie gra-Bolga, orc scout: "Uh... I'd have to house train my bear..."
Felicia the Wanderer, imperial witch-for-hire: "What Lorelai said."
Calico Jaka-dra, retired khajiit pirate: "This one would like a rest from her grand adventures. Her jewel shop runs out of stock!"
Shimmerbeam, blind altmer psijic: "Provided that I am confined to Artaeum, I do not think I will want for things to occupy my time."
Shauna Blackfire, redguard necromancer: "Sounds like paradise. I hate people."
Kirniel the Undying, cursed bosmer warrior: "I would feel useless, not being able to fight."
Echoes-from-Dragons, argonian who thinks she's a dragon: "All the better to count my hoard!"

A little bit too populated xD

It was nice and manageable about a year ago when the game was at it's all time low, now it is too full. PvP after midday is a no-go zone, most non-veteran zones are so full - farming runs are not possible without constant competition. Hah, nah it's all good, the game is doing well by the looks of it, i just prefer less people around is all :P

Egosalina - v16 Breton Cheesus Beam Specialist
Egowen - v16 Dunmer Whipping Expert (Riding crops eluded her)
(Yes, I had to grind all these to v16)
Akamanakh - lvl 22 Khajiit GankBlade (Inspired by Top Cat)
Targos Icewind - lvl 34 Imperial (Future) Jabplar
    (CP 830+)

My concern is three times the ppl in farming zones and leveling grinding zones I am very good in both areas and get a good 20 hate whispers daily. Are they going to triple the respawn times? I don't mind getting more but it's not very fair. I am sure the amount of rage quits are epic. I hope ZOS thinks this out very carefully.

More than 15k per faction @PurifedBladez?

And @DHale- higher spawn times only means more grinders, which only makes more of a Charlie Foxtrot for everyone 3:

Am I the only person that is deeply hesitant about making ALL of the PVE zones battle-leveled?

I mean, fresh out of the coldharbour prison and your base stats are battle leveled to match that of a level 50? So that if your level 3 potato and a level 50 champ0 character had nothing but identical swords, the ONLY thing that would make a difference would be the level 50 has used skill points?

Take it a step further. You are a brand new player. You step out the door from the place you wake up, fresh from the coldharbour prison. An established player stands there and hands you a full set of gear for your character type. Now, on DAY ONE of your time in tamriel you are level-scaled to match the stats of people who have been playing for months. On DAY ONE you can walk the roads of the fifth zone of your alliance (reapers march, alik'r, eastmarch) and swing your sword / blast your staff / fire your bow with just as much oomph as someone who has leveled their character 40+ times already.

Does this universal level-scaling they are talking about disturb anyone else, or is it just me?

If the numbers were good, they would be using it as a marketing tactic and bragging right. Since they don't, we have to assume the numbers are unimpressively low.

Given how it works now? No, it's just you. Battlescaling puts you to CR150, not max level, and while it does scale your gear up, it doesn't magically turn it into a set, trait it for you or improve it's quality.

That's before you consider that skill point allocation applies to passives as well as actives. So as a level 3 fresh out of Cold Harbour, you not as good at being a member of your own race as the CR501 in front of you is. Also, as a vet you'll have access to CP, which will affect your overall power.

There is a legitimate problem, where there's going to be a kind of leveling treadmill effect going on as you go up, and you'll probably feel a sharp dip in power when you go from your mid-40s to CR10. Hopefully they can address that, but otherwise, no. The system isn't perfect, but you will feel progress.

Blizz has been slowly losing players since... I want to say Wrath of the Lich King. It's been years. It's not that WoW is dying, just that the playerbase is diminishing, like in a normal MMO.
