Every single day, I login to my character and barely after loading into an area — "Unable to connect to the game sever. Please make sure you have a valid internet connection." Everyday! Everyday with this! Every since that patch that was supposed to "fix" things for console players. I just want to play my game, without having to login 5x before it decides to work! Ffffffff!

Never happened to me before TG.

What's new?

I just want to play ESO. That's it. We aren't requesting them to rush dlc content, making crazy demands, or something else of the like.

The community is outraged because the game used to work, and now it is actually broken. ZOS literally ruined the game's performance and no other game developer I've seen would be immoral enough to do this on PS4.

It's far worse than its ever been, and ZOS gives us the no ETA for a fix. Damage control only gets you so far and I'm sorry that the community managers have to deal with the aftermath because of the Dev team's terrible decisions to let these things happen.

OP has a good point. After I crash in Cyrodiil I get the same error message. Frustrating.

I have come back after not playing for 6 months or even more. I must say, the game runs so bad in comparison to back then.....

The only thing that's improved is the regular loading screens are much shorter.

But now you get loading screens in the middle of nowhere, massive fps drops.

Cyrodil has and will always be a terrible crap lag fest.

Agreed. I just want the game to work 1 day flawlessly. That's all. Just 1 day I don't get "blue-screened", or get disconnected random with that message. Just 1 day. Just 1.

I find this problem to be linked to either Cyrodiil crashing or leaving your character in a high traffic area. For me, I have had the unlucky timing of walking away when in Mournhold around the wayshrine (I'm EP), I am usually unable to log back into that character until prime time is over (after 1 AM EDT).

This is very typical and something that can be expected with everyone gathering around the wayshrines spamming AOE's. For whatever reason, since TG DLC, this will keep you locked out until the smap/number of players is lower.

I know that the same is happening in other alliance capital cities for the other alliances as well. One thing that sometimes helps is to delete your local saved data on your console. I know it sounds silly, but it has worked for several people that I usually play with (unfortunately, it has not worked for me).

Maybe someday, when unicorns and dragons abound in Tamriel, will we be able to load into different areas of the game without being told that we do not have valid internet connections.

Yeah that's the new message for the crashes when it doesn't dashboard.

It's a nice little addition, an attempt to push the blame on us again. That's how the Dev team fixes things ya knowww? Haha.

This is mainly because it looks like a dropped connection, from the perspective of the client. It is not possible for the client to know whether it was dropped by the server, or somewhere else. The only thing the user can do is check the connection locally, which is why the message says that.

This has happened to me several times in the last week. X1, NA. When it happens, I can usually log-in after three or four tries. Btw, it's irrelevant where my characters are located since this is the initial log-in attempt. When it happens, it's crashes with the OP's error message before I even get to choose which character I want to select.

EDIT: I checked my internet connection each time it happened, and my internet was fine.

Destiny works fine. Warframe works fine... Hell even Evolve servers work great. My friend who lives a couple of suburbs away from me has the exact same issues and this new error message has started since the last fix.

I'm not going to hear this check your own connection crap from anyone any longer. I may actually go full psycho.

@The_Patriarch I understand your frustration and trust me, it is not your internet (most of the time). The issue you are specifically reporting with the initial connection seems to be corrected, at least for us PS4 users, by deleting the local save game file. When getting kicked (blue screened), this file can become 'corrupted' and needs to be recreated in order for the game to load right.

My worst experiences are when I forget to relocate to that secluded area prior to logging or swapping toons. If I happen to forget or get pulled away, I just play a different toon until I can log back in on a different one.

Don't have this happen to me on PS4 NA. I use a ethernet cable for internet. Rarely use wireless.

I am hard-wired to a 300MB connection....so, for me personally, the connection is not the issue.

That "300MB" is a speed, not a statement of connection reliability. Just sayin'...

For the record, I am hardwired at 100Mbps, and not running a 300Mbps internet connection. I don't get random loading screens. Is this happening mostly to people who are wired, wireless, both? Fast internet, slow internet, both?

And then he does this to his game...

I don't get any issues logging in myself though, but I've had a lot of lag spikes as of late. However, I cannot say if it's server side or not since my friend doesn't lag...

One quick tip that helps. If you get disconnected before logging back in, hit start to bring up the opening screen with the elf chick, then immediately hit the middle button and then select "quit". This will start the game from scratch.

I've found it lowers the number of times my "internet connection is invalid" by almost 100%.

And when i can log into 7 other characters without issue and just one gives me the invalid internet connection? Is it still my connection? Oh wait, maybe just an issue at that time, so log out and log back into character that just failed, nope, still fails. Back to the character that just worked, logs in fine.

Clearly a connection issue on my end. Got it.
