Thank you, ZOS! (maintenance)

This recent maintenance for PS4 NA has been one of the quicker one. I believe it was completed within 2 hours or just over or so. So far, no noticeable issues plaguing my gameplay like last week's. This is not a gloat or anything of the likes.. just a tidbit of gratitude amidst many seemingly negativity going around within this forum. So, thank you ZOS and keep it going like this. Sorry for those that have experienced much longer maintenance time. My prayers were sent to the cosmos on your behalf..

That is a sad moment in game fans life, when he/she feels its necessary to thank devs for not screwing up the game even more, isnt it?

Oh man.. not what I expected. No more negative Nancy, please.. I'm trying to keep this thread positive and not open any kind of can of worms! Lol! Just a bit of gratitude for some of the hard work they have put into this game. Yes, yes, in a perfect world, everything will be fixed quickly and everyone will be smiling.. like after you save the princess in Super Mario.

Right now i play regularly 3 games and all 3 are MMO's. Gw2 - almost from release, still play, still enjoy, Marvel heroes - i really enjoy pure arpg grind in Diablo 2 spirit, and ESO.

From all above ESO is the worst in aspect fixing bugs timely and effectively. And i mean miles behind. Due to the mounting frustration both with technical state and direction of game i play ESO less and less.

Perhaps when devs start doing their job - you know the thing we are all chimmed up to be done, then ill have some positivity for them.

Yeah.. so, what a nice a guy. I was running hard up to a dolmen, and right as I got there, I saw a guy who had just finished off the last boss.. and right before he pressed the thing, he saw me and then motioned to me to press it instead. I got the points without going through that dolmen. What a nice guy.. right?

Lol. Damn. That is so sad, but so true... It's a shame things have come to this.

There is no "PC master race", just preferences. I am glad that you're enjoying so much playing on PC that it makes you feel like it's a master race but I'm perfectly fine playing on console too, thank you though.

That is good hear. The maintenance on PS4 EU hasn't changed a thing. Sadly the game is still laggy as hell and plagued with loading screens.

Well, it's politely to say thanks and show gratitude, even if you are paying for something/someone.

Don't feel bad for us. I think most console people are quite happy with the fact that when we see something new come out, we know we won't have to upgrade and spend more money and a huge amount of time on software tweaks to get it to work.

Not that I subscribe to the master race however since you fired back and I do love my gaming machines allow me to retort.

Computers last a long time too if you buy right the first time. My 5930K with 2 GTX 1080 cards will last a very long time. Games would progress more if they where not held back by consoles. With the Xbox Scorpio and PS4 Neo coming out it looks like this might change a little more towards favor of the PC especially if they release a new Xbox every year now and keep up with he hardware.

It's nice to give thanks, imagine doing your job and never receiving it. So I think a little thank you goes a long way. I know the OP would put me in good spirits if I was a zos team member. And it wouldn't make me feel like I'm only working to please people who get very nasty if things arent working a certain way.

Some people on these forums remind me of those types that create a scene at a fast food restaurant if your order wasn't correct the first time. I've been on the receiving end before and it made me feel like utter sh!t. And I started to hate my job because of the negativity from co workers and customers. (I was new so mistakes are bound to happen.)

The zos team are humans with emotions as well. Constantly throwing negativity at their face will make them feel unappreciated and lose the morale for their job overtime. Who would put all their effort into their job when the majority of customers you have are people who downgrade everything you do?

I say give zos some gratitude for sticking it out with US. And thanks for their work on consoles.

Glad to see someone so willing to be positive. Here you go OP, for you! *hands @GreenhaloX a membership trinket for the yaysay cult*

Personally though I think things got worse for me with the last maintenance. Noticing loading is getting slower and slower and I am now getting forced loading screens in Rawl'kha of all places! Sure there is a lot there but it's small! Some others based on a poll I ran seemed to notice things get worse as well, but many noticed no change at all, and others continue to experience no problems whatsoever. Glad to see you're among those people not so badly effected OP!

Also nice to hear you found a good person at that dolmen lol

I feel you man. The parallel is a bit off though.....

It's a bit more like the customer at a restaurant shakes your hand, compliments you, pays for their food ahead of time ($60), and even gives you your $15 tip (ESO+). Awesome! Time to step up for the kind gentleman. You bring out the really nice-looking food they ordered, but randomly choose to drop it on the floor, spit on it, and then replate and serve. (DB patch)

The customer notices how their food is a strange mess based on their past experiences with that dish (pre-DB), and want you to do the right thing aka cook their order again to fix the problem. You tell them it'll be ready soon and great. After an hour of extra waiting, the food is ready, but on the next attempt you drop it and again choose to serve anyway. (maintenances)

They reject the food, asking to serve them the dish correctly, slightly fed up. You tell them you hear their concerns (damage control, "we hear your concerns" "#1 priority" "all engineers on deck") but no ETA on a fix.

    That server would get fired.

Actually if I was a PC player I would be quite happy about this. A large part of the reason for faster and faster technology upgrade requirements is greed, and maintaining a steady income stream. This is the main reason why I don't maintain a PC other than for work. When I had to upgrade to Win 10, most of my classic PC games stopped working. In that case its best to keep around another machine that still runs Win 7.

This thread seemingly did backfired on me. I felt like a lone cowboy behind an overturned wagon surrounded by raging Indians galloping furiously around my burning wagon train. I was hoping there would be somewhat more of other praises, or a bit more of it from others for the ZOS crew. Although, there're some who posted their discontents with their perception of ZOS's poor services and the game quality is not to their expectations, it is still a small fraction of the ESO community as a whole. I understand the frustration people are feeling or the seemingly discontent they are having as the game contents are not meeting their expectations, but still this was not what this thread is intended for.. just a bit of gratitude for the ZOS crew once in awhile.

Thank you, @Seratopia. At least one other brave lone gunner came to my aid. We might be able to survive this ordeal until the cavalry comes and not be another Colonel Custard's last stand moment at the battle at Little Big Horn. Lol!

Ha ha.. yeah. Actually, with no intention of taking any credit, I actually do that. Usually running dolmen to get XP and not really the drops. I literally hate wayshining to a dolmen area, then seeing the anchor is already up and then galloping hard to get to it, only to have someone press the final pinion as I reach the dolmen. So, for me, every time I am doing a dolmen by myself, and before I press that final pinion, I take a few seconds to look around to see if anyone else is galloping or running to the dolmen. If someone is, I would signal for him or her to press that final pinion. It's minor and there are many other dolmen, but it is some frustration to get there when wanting to get the XP and not get it. Lol!
