A question about reset the drawers and cabinets

Calgary_Hockey
I am wondering what will happen to the other people's perceptive after I log out and in to reset the drawers and cabinets to acquire some more loot. Can they see what happen and try to steal the loots from me? Or will they have to log out and in to see it? Any answers are much appreciated.

    Drawers, crates, barrels, cabinets etc. are all instanced if I'm not mistaken?

    Yes, you cannot see their drawers and they cannot see yours if you took stuff then relogged to reset them

    Oh other people can definitely see you log out and back in but no, no one can take those type of containers from you. Loot from cabinets, dressers, nightstands, barrels, sacks, ect. is instanced to the individual. Two people can open the same container and get completely different loot.

    All you need to do is zone to reinstance lootable containers in the game. So run around a city and fill up with green or better loot, zone into the Outlaws Refuge, fence it, zone back out, and all the containers will have been reset.

    Of note, there is one big exception to this rule...

    Dwemer ruins/containers: These special areas have a 30 minute timer on them before they have a chance of dropping rare items like motifs and Dwemer scrap. So hit those areas less often if you're hoping for motifs and scrap.

    Other than Harvest Nodes, Thieves Troves and Locked Chests*, all other containers are instanced to you, in your client so there are no loot steals. You can open a container right after someone else takes everything out and there will be something for you.

    *There might be one or two others I am forgetting about, like maybe backpacks in the overworld, but not the ones in Delves and Dungeons and Town interiors. Backpacks kind of swing both ways.

    @TheWhiteDarkness

    Thanks, Forgot to mention those, but they also go away, so they are not the same as other containers in that regard. More like Harvest Nodes in that the next person has nothing to even look at. Also, you don't find all that many Heavy Bags in towns, I can think of about a half dozen, and most of those are in towns under conflict, like the area Bangkori across the river from Evermore

    They are instanced in Group Dungeons (so are locked chests for that matter) So, if your running a group dungeon, everyone can loot the chest after it is unlocked or the Heavy Bag/Chest.

    Also, about those Heavy Bags, I have noticed that some quest hubs have those in abundance while the quests are active, the lost fleet area in Coldharbor is one of these areas. But, once the quests are over, the heavy bag spawns seem to reduce. So, if your working the quests and see the bags, make sure you loot them, but don't come back expecting to see a bunch again once the quests are done.

    @Nestor I've found that Heavy bags are like chests, I've had quite a few stolen from under my nose from another player whether it be in a dungeon or out in the world. They also respawn in the same spot but you might be right with the timers

    Cabinets, Wardrobes, Trunks, Desks, Backpacks, Barrels, and other misc. containers of the sort are you only.

    Material nodes, Thieves' Troves, Safeboxes, Treasure Chests, Heavy Sacks, and anything else similar to these are public access.

    Did they change the dwemer timers? When they reduced the lootables and implemented timers in the dwemer locations, I recall it was an hour.
