there is an non-target way to get major sorcery and all my nbs use it: spellpower potions. I rather use potions and have an extra slot free for another damage skill. In fact all my chars use either spellpower or weapon power potions all times when damage dealing. Its not cheap but its also a bit odd to gear up in all gold and then use trash pots;)

Tbh, even if they had a surge sorta skill I wouldn't slot it on my bar, not enough space, potions are the best thing for it, or a dk running igneous is also very nice.

Sap Essence.
I would cry out in joy if my sorc could get that buff from her spammable AoE skill. Seriously. And it even heals, has good range, triggers magicka flood and can be used with DW. Seriously good skill!
If I need a "pre-loaded" buff, like when I'm getting ready for a Vicious Death blast, I use spellpower potions (cornflower, lady's smock, water hyacinth). Very cheap, gives magicka, sorcery and even prophecy. What's not to like?

Sap essence use to work on a 33.33% proc chance imo

It's a fantastic AoE... I am bound to hit even the sneakiest, cloakiest nightblade with it just by spamming it mindlessly! x'D

I main as a Sorc and I use pots. Skill slots are too precious to use up with buffs you can get from pots.

Now, if I could only get the magicka boost of Inner Light without wasting 2 slots... because the crit buff I also get from pots, so 2 more skills I could fit into my rotation...

what class skills do templars have to give major sorcery? targeted or non targeted?
what class skill did dragon knights have to give major sorcery before the changes to molten weapons?

if ZOS wanted this prebuff to be possible to all magicka classes they would change the functionality of entropy. to do exactly what it does now. but without needing a target.

heal over time + major sorcery buff + max health buff/ light and heavy attacks have a chance to heal, and it would be like the magicka version of momentum/rally

They didnt have to make the skill target specific. They chose to. like they chose how to make each class unique and different to one another. if you make everything vanilla when the core design was different strengths and weaknesses it can greatly upset the balance.

I considered pots but I always felt it was an expensive option. Sap essence is awesome in so many ways, but you are bound to get close to your opponent to activate major sorcery.

If you run a few laps of hollow city you'll get enough mats to make 100 pots in 20 mins or so. 25 tears by the big lake in wrothgar takes less than 5 mins.
