idea for a fun new pvp mechanic

Verathragna
You know how cyrodiil had the ayleid wells that give you a health buff. I had an idea similar in a way, that could help to counterbalance the Crazy emperor buff that would be fun in my opinion. What if there was a buff that would spawn in a random location in cyrodiil that only one person could have at a time, would only last an hour and when time was up it would respawn somewhere else at a random spot. Like a Sword in a stone kind of thing. Could be a "Hero buff" make it like the emp buff but halved still a crazy buff but only half as strong as emperor. Who ever finds it would be the Hero or Champion of their faction for an hour and would be buffed up. Make it to where the emp is unable to pick it up because that would be insane. That way there would be some sort of awesome pvp buff that isn't AP driven so that everyone can have a fair chance at it since getting emp is impossible unless you have some guild feeding you AP unfairly to boost you to emp. Or even better give it to two people at a time. Make a "hero" or "champion" buff spawn for the two factions that currently don't have a throned emperor. That way they can combat the emperor some. So one faction would have their emp and the other two could potentially have a "Champion" or "Hero" assuming they can find the buff. Gives people a reason to explore cyrodiil. And it gives a reward that isn't determined by AP.

I like this idea, it would indeed be rewarding for those who would like to compete for emperorship but know that it won't happen because of the strategies that are commonly used now. It's also rewarding for those who like exploring maps and such. The only problem I see with this is that people who belong to guilds feeding the someone APs could go and look for this buff to prevent other players to get it.
    My characters (EU PC):
Leopardo Di-Caprio (Khajiit Templar) || Matthew Makehoney (Altmer Sorcerer) || Luck-Luster Burt (Redguard Dragonknight)
Clint Histwood (Argonian Templar) || Martin Uber Ping (Redguard Sorcerer) || Louis Farmstrong (Imperial Nightblade)
    Anthony Hotskins (Altmer Nightblade)

If this could be added in a way that made sense lore-wise too it may be cool.

I feel like the concept could be taken and expanded upon in a cool way for sure :)

People are methodical. The spawn locations would need to be COMPLETELY randomized or else someone is going to record every location they find one and then they'll just make a Guild that basically farms these Wells.

On top of that Cyrodiil is quite a large zone and there's a high probability that a Well might just sit at it's spawn location for hours upon hours on end undiscovered, unless they're given incredibly noticeable effects such as a Skyshard beam, but 5x the intensity.

But yeah I like your idea.

I noticed you say it's just reserved for one person, whoever finds it. I think it shouldn't give crazy buffs to just one guy on par with the emperors because the emperor worked hard for his position meanwhile someone else could just walk around Cyrodiil to find this thing and get the same or close to the same buff? I don't really think that's fair. He alone deserves to be the most powerful player.

When an alliance has the emperor buff everyone on that faction receives a health bonus. I think if this "champion" well is found it should just give a bonus to the finder's alliance.. But that's all. Just to help take back some map and have a better chance against the alliance with scroll and emp buffs.

One person from each alliance that currently doesn't have a throned emp. Emperor on paper is earned, but it's not really earned when people call in their guild to get on alt characters and just come die to feed some guy ap Nothing earned there at all it's just boosting. I wanted to go for emp this past week because I had 10 days off of work and would have time to dedicate to it but less than an hour after the campaign reset some guy had over a million Ap, wasn't even worth trying. And In my idea it's only half as strong as emp buff, The Emperor would still be the most powerful player.

I would want it to be hard to find. Make it all the more rare for someone to get it. But yeah If they could make it spawn completely random in accessible areas and not inside keeps that would be the idea. But even if it did have set spawn locations and it would randomly choose from one of the set locations it could still work with a time limit on the buff.

Better idea - have the buff be lasting one hour - OR until someone finds the next spawn location, whatever comes first. And have it respawn -right away- after being used in one location, for someone else to find, so you can never know if your buff will be for the full hour, or vanish just when you charge that guard... ;)

But i agree, a very large number of completely randomized spawn locations on off the track places is vital. more random then the chest locations, certainly, to keep guilds from farming... and make those searching for it have to brave a lot of gankage possibilities...

How about a lore friendly artifact? Like the Ebony Mail or Chrysame, off the top of my head, maybe it can give a more specific buff instead of a more generic buff..?
