Maelstrom Shield

I am genuinely surprised that you made the Maelstrom Shield from Veteran Maelstrom Arena a pretty random, non-special shield, like... the way it comes as a random set, like "The Glorious Defender" set etc, when every other weapon from vMSA has a unique enchant (even though some are the same,) yet Maelstrom shield has a prismatic glyph and comes as random set?

Does anyone else find that odd?

because if I wanted to make use of the 4-5 Maelstrom shields that I've got, I'd need to 3 jewelry and a piece of the matching set's armor (a set that just drops from the chests and elsewhere in Wrothgar) or 4 pieces of the set's armor.

Yes i find that odd. The hypothetical answer for many on the forum was that it isn't considered a weapon but armor piece so it's ok for not being special . For mi it is a weapon, it is part of "sword and board" skill line and should be special as others weapons.
