It has become so incredibly difficult to find a guild trader thats selling early game crafting materials. Even the Mournhold traders that seem to always have everything are saturated with nothing but CP gear and materials. I get that by now most of everyone already has numerous level capped characters so who cares about anything other than the CP160 stuff, but then those who do still have a character or two to level are given very few options.

Yknow, other then spending hours farming their own mats, but then again im lazy and trying to get to 50 ASAP.

Anyone know of some good crafting guilds that have traders?

    What system and server?

I think a lot of people just have these mats in thier bank and give them out for free at this point.

    Yes this is true.

However, hours? Try about 10 minutes to farm an entire gear set worth of mats.

The improvement items are level-independent, so all you need is like 10-15 refined level mats per item x 7 plus weapons. Each plant, mining, and wood node gives like 3 or 4 raw mats. Ten raw mats makes like 6-9 refined mats. So like 30-ish plants for a full set?

Not too terrible really. I consider it part of "the experience." :p

EDIT: Try asking in guild chat. You'd be surprised how many people will make you lowbie gear with their mats if you provide the improvement items.

    depends on your server,

if you can craft/know someone who can craft best advice i can offer is steal weapons/armour that your character needs so LA/MA/HA staff/swords as appropriate. a lot of crafters will happily make a set if you supply all mats, but this isnt to say you shouldnt give them a gift as a token of appriciation,

launder the items, i know this can be costly (but its not as costly as buying the materials), but laundering an item has 2 benefits
    1. it increases the amount of resources you recover once you deconstruct them.
    2. it increases your ledgerman.

Your items are only going to take 10-15 refined mats at champion levels. A full set of rawhide gear should set you back less than 50 materials, unless you're specifically trying to craft level 14 or something similar. Also, deconstructing items (except for tier 10 items) will return a fair number of crafting mats, so you can just break down two or three items, and have enough materials for the one you want.

    ... It's the crafting bags

No reason to sell my "useless" mats because I don't need to make room in my bags. Instead now they get saved for any guild mates that may need gear made.

I could be mistaken, but I think they changed #1. So now, when you launder them, they're back to being zero value trash items, like they were back in the day, and nearly worthless for decon.

I tend to visit a couple of guild traders every day and buy about 300-400 units of each of the lower tier mats - I need currently 330 units each (half of that for clothing mats) to do my writs every day and I normally buy them from guild traders. There is rarely a shortage if I do that every day and buy a little more than I actually need, so that I build up a good stock over time and can live through a temporary shortage without that I would have to gather materials.

This guy has the answer. I never sell any crafting materials anymore since I got craft bag. I also loot everything now. I have become an extreme hoarder now that I have the space to do so

i was stealing/laundering deconing the other day (for ledgerman on an alt & writ supplies) didnt notice a decrease in resources returned. maybe they've increased the materials dropped from un laundered items, which is cheaper, but i need those pickpoketing & force lock passives. lol

True. I'm forced to just farm low level mats instead, I don't mind it but yeah traders are quite useless most of the time.

One of my guild mates is selling some crafting mats here and there, but honestly a lot of us either A: Deposit it in the guild bank or B: Put it in a crafting bag to make gear for others.

Check Hollow City out. I think there's a crafting mat specific guild store there.

Edit, just realized you're on XBox :(

Personally I have been saving all my low level mats, I've been spending most of my time in lowbie zones scooping up lowbie mats in preparation for One Tamriel.

I was exaggerating a bit there yeah, :p but i did spend a good bit of time alone farming leather in this one place in shadowfen. Since you only get 1 or 2 raw leather in a drop, not to mention not all the mobs drop the stuff all the time, i ended up with just 36 after a good ten or twenty minutes? Im always in such a hurry to get my character up to Champion that legit farming seems a bit long winded for me, so i always tried to rely on traders.

My platform and server is in my sig btw guys. Rawl ka is a pretty good place, just need to discover it on this character first.
