The worst I ever got was in a PvE area. I exited a building and my character was laying on it's back. When I tried to walk it wouldn't stand up. So here I was sliding on my back across the whole zone and it wouldn't revert to normal until I logged off and on lol.UltimaJoe777 wrote: »UltimaJoe777 wrote: »I had a pretty trippy experience myself recently.
Was in Arx Corinium and I guess a snake disoriented me or something because next thing I know while fighting is I start sliding sideways, can't stop, can't do anything, even slid THROUGH OBSTACLES and even saw beneath the floor. After I slid over enough I slowed down and started sliding back over. After I guess about 20 seconds all was back to normal. The entire time though I was basically still in 1 spot, taking attacks from enemies at that spot. Glad I'm big on Health and natural Regeneration or I would've been screwed lol
This is the sort of *** that triggers false positives for speedhacking, if you are unfortunate to get a random lagspike at the same time, as it may consider it a "impossible move/action" and flag someone for it because it's true - it would not happen in normal circumstances, but the detection system doesn't know that... Not saying it happens all the time, but given the recent events, I am inclined to think that this sort of thing is exactly what causes it in most cases (excluding actual cheats being used obviously).
Well I play on console and the sliding was rather slow. I could honestly walk faster, even with my weapon drawn, than the speed at which I slid. I do, however, have a ton of speed on that character though lol
...Not the drug though, go away drugies >:O

I'm on pc running a GTX 980ti and this is the only case I had like it. It was right after a patch. I neglected to say that I was able to control where the movement went, it was just sliding instead of walking. The worst I ever got was in a PvE area. Well first of all, if you're on console I don't think it affects you as there is no cheating or anti-cheating measures in place (don't quote me on that, I might be wrong, but I highly doubt)
Second of all. Judging from the way the detection flags people, I don't think it only measures ones speed but other factors aswell such as how is the character moving, where it's moving and if that movement corresponds to the input from the client/controls used. For example in your case it could be - your character is slidingaround/moving on It's own, yet no actual input comes from the client that would cause it, also it moves erratically and in a manner normal gameplay doesn't support - which the detection system could flag as a potential bot or hack.
Remember that cheat engine doesn't just change speed or stats, it allows players also to noclip through walls, walk in the sky or under the terrain, jump as high as possible (YouTube it and see for yourself). So if a lagspike and stuff like you describe happens, which is due to bad coding or w/e - a detection system may not account for all the actual glitches in the game itself and flag/suspend the user. Remember a script is not a person, it cannot determine whether you slid back and forth through walls because of a glitched out skill during a lagspike or because someone is using a CE program to do it, all it sees is a user behaving and moving out of bounds outside of normal game environment and takes action or flags the user.
This is just my observation and opinion obviously based on what I've seen here and how other anticheating tools work in various different games. It's not a fact, just a observation, so don't flame me if I might be wrong.

I was warned to not use gap-closers in Cyrodiil... Everyone told me not to, and I have read post after post of the unexpected results that may occur for failing to heed the warnings by everyone. But did I listen? No. I was too busy feeding my ego, and stomping the entrails out of Pact members and sipping skooma. I was too busy getting AP, counting money, and posting up with lusty Argonian maidens to care what anyone had to say. And now, my Orc corpse lay before my enemies after entering a space-time rift.
Kids please don't abuse skooma, and mead... And most importantly...? Do NOT use gap-closers in Cyrodiil.

So, ZOS bans you for not being able to write code properly. Good to know. I would have fallen into the same trap as you.
Btw, ZOS, when do you fix this obvious error in your game? Any ETA? Or is it better to ban people unjustified, for playing your game? And how in this world does THAT compare to the real cheaters, using external 3rd party programs?
