Bunch of Random Questions...

I've had this game for probably A year and a half now, and there's just a bunch of random stuff I don't know that I feel like I should know. I also had a 7-8 month break, because my computer broke and it took quite a while to replace.

Sneaking. What's the point of it? I use a dual-wield nightblade and I don't think I've snuck once. Does it make it less likely for enemies to aggro you? I don't really find that necessary, since the aggro range in this game is pretty small already. In Cyrodiil does it actually make you invisible? I've gotten ambushed by people that were invisible a few times there, and it couldn't have been from that skill in the Shadow skill tree, seeing as that only lasts a few seconds.

What are delves? I always end up with the problem of being too low of a level to actually do quests, and I have a level 32 DK that's already in the rift (and is the highest level I have so far)... I have an addon that shows quest locations, and I do all that are actually there (The other ones, I assume are Fighters/ Mages guild questlines I haven't unlocked yet). I saw other people saying the same thing on the forums, and people usually say something like "have you done all the quests/ delves/ dolmens?". So are those important? I know what the dolmens are, and I haven't bothered with a single one yet, and have no clue what delves are...

Is there any point in adding stamina to mounts? From what I can tell they can sprint indefinitely. Once said mount runs out of stamina I've always been able to just keep sprinting anyways. :/

Should I pump health/ stam/ mag the most? Right now I mostly use a Nightblade and I want to make him a glass cannon, as I usually do in mmorpgs. I've pumped mainly magicka, a tiny bit of stamina and pretty much an inconceivable amount of health.

Sorry about the mind-numbingly long post, btw.

I'll try to get back to this when I've got a real keyboard.

But, yes stealth does hide you from hostile players in Cyrodiil.

I've used stealth and cloak to get skyshards from group delves and avoid all combat. Get in, get the skyshard, get out. My ninja was set up more fo 1v1. I could handle 3 npc's easily, but groups of 5 or 6 wreck me. So, I ninja the skyshard from those delves. Delves are like mini public dungeons. I think there are six standard delves and one group delve in each area. Each delve contains a skyshard and there is a skill point available in group delves.

Welcome back to the game :)

Stealth is useful in PvE, if you prefer that playstyle... it guarantees a high damage first hit again any mob (good for bow users). Also, some quests request you to find clues or traps, and they are highlighted while you're sneaking.

Yes, in Cyrodiil you're invisible to enemies while stealthed.

Delves are small dungeons which have a skyshard inside, a mini-boss type enemy and sometimes one or two related quests you can find. They are open to all players, and their difficulty is tuned to be able to be completed by a single player alone.

Contrast that with Public Dungeons, which are bigger dungeons in each zone open to all players too, but have more difficult bosses and sometime several quests you can do in them. They also have a Skyshard and an extra "group" event that once finished rewards you with a skill point.

Stamina on mounts helps you to keep going while being hit and avoid being dismounted... basically is like a second health while mounted, each enemy hit decreases the mount's stamina a bit and when it reaches zero, you're forcefully dismounted and stunned for a short period... and this is normally fatal in PvP nowadays :P

About Mag/Stam/Health... people normally like to bump only your damage attribute (stam or mag, depending which one you're focusing) but while leveling is sometimes better to have a bit of extra health too. You can always respecc later, if you find that you need more damage, once your start looking into group content and all that.

    Good luck!

Yes, you're invisible to enemies in Cyrodiil and PvE mobs, too. But there's a detection distance that varies by several factors, including passive skills (racial and medium armor), armor sets but especially the two that increase other people's detection range which are Way of Air and Sentry (which atm cannot be combined but probably can be next patch), as well as Magelight and the Fighter's Guild one, as well as detection potions.

Just because you can't see someone while they're in stealth doesn't necessarily mean they can't see you. Your "sneak eye" starting to open doesn't mean that the enemy also sees their sneak eye opening if your detection range is higher than theirs.

Delves are jus the dungeons that aren't public or group dungeons. They tend to have 2 treasure chests that spawn at a dozen or so locations and one boss mob or boss mob group in one place, except the ones in Cyrodiil which have from one to six boss mobs. There are rarely quests that take you to them but some have quests that start in them and get turned in for a smallish amount of xp.

Dolmens are the anchors that drop from the sky and are the main point of the game's plot up to the end of Coldharbour (plus some Imperial City) and give great XP, Fighter's Guild experience, and have a couple unique items and item sets from the occasional unique boss mobs that come at the end for the last pinion battle.

Stamina for mounts determines how much damage you can take while riding before being involuntarily dismounted and since it's a 4 second stun when that happens is something you don't want to happen in PvP.

For almost all builds except some tanky pvp or weird pve tank builds you lilkely want to put all points into either Stamina or Magicka. That doesn't depend on your class so much as your race. If your racial passives give bonuses for magicka then make a magicka build. If they're focused on stamina make a stamina build. Health comes from your food buff or maaaybe enchants if you really need it for some reason. If you have an argonian apparently you'll make a good swimming healer next patch (my dk argonian is already a healer). If you have a Nord, go find some drunk RPers.

No hybrid builds are in any way acceptable for endgame play. You're either stamina or magicka and that varies only by if you add in some health.

Lastly, the reason you don't know all this is because there's not much of anything in-game to tell you these things and it's built from inter-player communication. I remember early testing on how all the AvA mechanics actually worked way back when. Ever sat and watched a resource add it's effects to a keep in the middle of the night to test it's rate? SUPER-fun. These forums are a toxic morass of idiots who whine and *** for attention in ALLCAPS but also a decent place to get accurate information but it sounds like you need to join a guild that's actually competent to help hip you to these things unless you're super-annoying, in which case don't go wrecking a perfectly nice guild with drama.

The sad thing about ESO is that there's so much that if you don't know you don't even know to ask.

Since no one else has addressed this at all... there's no way you got to The Rift, did all the content, and still ended up at level 32. I honestly kind of wonder if you went to the Rift Early. The intended route through the Pact is Stonefalls -> Deshaan -> Shadowfen -> Eastmarch -> The Rift.

If you got the, "hey, go to Windhelm" target and started walking, you've missed about 20% of your questline, and at least 10 levels.

This. If you see anything on your map that resembles a structure or a town, there is almost definitely a quest there. Go down all the roads. Everyone has a problem that they need big strong you to handle.

Also anyone who looks slightly confused and doesn't immediately try to remove your face may have a quest.

Run through enemy mobs and count how many times you get hit before getting dismounted then promptly beaten to death while your character takes their time before they can move again.
