We are currently investigating connection issues some players are having on the European megaservers. We will update as new information becomes available.

Any Race Any Alliance code compatibility with Steam version

After making new characters in EU server, I realized that my Any Race Any Alliance bonus does not carry over from the NA server. I don't want to spend $25 again for something I already bought once.

A friend offered me his Pre-order code for the Any Race Any Alliance bonus, which he never used. So my question here is, will it be compatible with the Steam version of the game which I use?

I could be mistaken, but as I recall the Explorer Pack code is actually cross server, unlike the crown store unlock.

Yes, which is why I wanna use it but I am not sure whether it works with the Steam version of the game and don't wanna risk wasting it.

    Okay, here's the thing.

You bought a box, at some point. That's an account.

You bought a copy on steam at some point. That's an account.

    You have two accounts.

The client doesn't matter. I mean, really. Unlike a normal game, with MMOs, the client won't let you actually play the game without an account. The account is what you're, ultimately, paying for, not the software. You can probably download the client for free from this site (I haven't checked, but I know you can if you have an active account.)

You can log into either account from either install. They should both work. You can do whatever you want with each.

So, here's the question, if you log in through Steam, which account are you using? The one you got from Steam, or the one you use normally?

Well it is the Steam account I am using.

You should be able to apply it from your account page here. Unless you're actually using a different account via the steam install...

    Yes.

Okay, wait, did I read this wrong. You've only bought the game once? Via Steam?

Well on PC, only Steam. My cousin got an extra pre-order code.

Okay, at the top of this page you should see a tab that says Account. Click it... preferably in a new window, log in. On the left side of the screen you should see a bar called "Account Summary." The bottom entry should be "Redeem Code." Click it, enter the code there.

With MMO accounts, Steam... doesn't really matter. It's not like a single player game where it functions as DRM and can alter the way the game functions. With an MMO, the account is the important part. The preorder pack codes should work for any account on the same platform. Now, if your cousin had a PS4 key, or 360 key, that might not work. I honestly don't know. But, for a PC preorder key? Yeah, it'll attach to your account, if you bought your copy off the shelf or on Steam.
