Dismounting in puddles?

Why does my horse disappear when i ride through deeper water? It's extremely annoying at best.

Did you already make this thread last week? Could swear someone was asking the same thing.

If the water is too deep, you dismount. Simple as that. Don't go through bodies of water... Seems like a simple solution.

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

Incidentally, this is why there are no horses in Vvardenfell.

Because Tamrielic horses dissolve in water.

ESO's water is amazing, by the way. Everywhere is infested with killer fish, diving is prohibited, and crocodiles can't chase you if you simply swim across to the other side of a river. Because ESO is the most immersive experience ever.

But horses can cross rivers. They do it all the time. I"m not asking for a speedy crossing. Just not to have to resummon my mount every time i want to cross even a narrow stream that's just a hair to wide to jump across.

I really enjoy this game, but this is one of the most game breaking annoyances i've come across.

This is a question to think about....., BUT I find it annoying too. ;)

they can swim cross the river, but NOT while you on top of them

the puddle that make your horse dissapear, probably deep enough that it'll also make you go to swim animation when in it

That'd be me - I made a post about this sometime last week. "If the water is too deep" - now that's funny, because it's a freaking puddle.

Look on the bright side. I remember when horse neighing would cause my toon's mouth to move in time with the sound. That was weird. Basically horses in ESO are a slightly more advanced form of Daggerfall's 'strap a horse to the bottom of the player camera' technique. Standard lazy stuff.

It's still better than at launch. Run over a rock? Dismount. Run over a stick? Dismount. Run over a particularly large blade of grass? Dismount.
