Im running x2 GTX 970's which is ~8GB GPU, paired with i7 5820k and 32GB RAM and still get dirt FPS.

Computer is enough to render 4k video real time for editing but just cant compete with Zo$ incompetence.

HAHAHAHA you did like the worst thing you could do. SLI doesn't work that way, you still only use one card worth of VRAM. And to top it, you picked 970s which drop to 10fps once VRAM usage goes over 3.5 GB.

At 1080P SLI GTX 970 are just fine. The video RAM is primarily a resolution thing.

At the end of the day you just have to chalk this up as a problem because ESO has some of the worst optimization in all of gaming that even if you are running top of the line hardware you'll still get crappy performance.

This is mostly a ESO and a few other F2P games problem, can run any other MMO on max settings atleast sitting at 60fps while fighting huge groups of players at the same time.

In this case the only way you might be able to work around this problem in ESO is by buying the Large Pixel Coillder. And even with that beast I wouldn't be surprised if you still get bad fps drops afterwards.

i try playing to cyrodiil and have only 20 fps . ?

It's very simple. Nothing wrong with your video card. Your cpu is bottlenecking your computer. Either upgrade your cpu or overclock it.

The graphics actually do really well on the PC/Mac platforms.

This game gets the same frame rate as Witcher 3 when both games are maxed out on the video settings at 4K. At a certain point old hardware is left behind and sometimes games come out that are more then any machine available can run with the thought that in a year or so the hardware will grow into the game.

The fact is that the game isn't optimized as it should be. The game engine (not havok, the hero thing)is kind bad. :(

    SLI doesn't share memory pool.

This is my gut reaction to this thread also - my GPU barely breaks a sweat, my CPU (which is a lot older than my GPU and needs upgrading) is frequently maxed and straining. It's not rendering the graphics that causes a problem for me, it's the mass of calculations that my CPU has to do that cause it to max out on all cores and that causes problems.

EDIT (I have been running a resource monitoring utility on my 2nd display screen for a while when I am playing ESO so that I can pinpoint whether any of the performance issues are linked to my hardware - no point paying out money for hardware unless you know where (or if) there is a performance bottleneck on your end.)

I upgraded to a gtx 970 (from radeon hd6970) a while back and saw a decrease of about 10fps. When I saved up some more cash I replaced my motherboard and cpu. Going from an amd fx 6300 to an i5 6600k almost trippled my fps (20ish to 60-100). Now I rarely drop below 60, and never below 45 (in pve). I rarely pvp but when I do I still pull 40+ in keep sieges. Its also noteworthy that Im still playing in 1080p, because it still looks way better than the NES I grew up with. Results vary, but my experience is that having a "modern" cpu will do far more for this game than having the best video card.
