✭✭✭✭✭First thing to check, is the game seeing the video card or the CPU graphics? With the other video card now missing the game may not know to run on the new card. Also, the 64 bit version of this game has an issue choosing the video card, so it needs to be forced in either the video card control panel or the power options (hint, use High Performance options for Video)
Are you running the Catalyst Control Center? (try it with that disabled) Did you install the GamerOSD App? Not sure if that is still offered, but it was a problem for a lot of games to have it running at the same time. Note, mostly, the game would not even launch if this was the problem, but I have seen performance issues with GamerOSD in the past.

hey charley, I'm sorry this might burst your bubble but this game relies on strong CPU single core performance to run the way you'd like it to be running. A good graphics card might only help you so much. I run with a EVGA GTX 960 with the same results as you.
My advice to you is, stop yourself from spending more money to try to run this game in a better way, unless you really care enough to do so. Sit tight and wait for client performance updates such as DirectX12 (which was mentioned back in february), and other client improvements.

Sorry to mislead in my statement. What i meant exactly is i have 2 cards running on my rig playing ESO (Comparing to your one card) in which they process the same amount of data as one card would, but faster and thus more FPS.
When i am sucking out on 20 FPS on fiber optic 52MB broadband, i assuredly know its not my rig.
I would try, right click on taskbar, open task manager. Select the resource manager tab. Run ESO for 30mins/windows tab out of game and check your resource manager. Is your LAN/RAM/CPU peaking out?.
Like Nestor said, make sure all drivers are updated/continually updated.
Only run FTC/Advanced AUI as addons in Cyro, anymore will hamper your gameplay.0 -

Don't get mad at ESO for not being able to do 4K with two GTX 970 cards. Witcher 3 can't either.
My GTX 1080 can barely handle max settings minus AA at 4K and keep 60 FPS. In a raid with 14 people my frame rate is in the forties.
If you want a solid 60FPS at 4K max settings you are going to need at least two GTX 1080 cards. I'm waiting for Best Buy to get another one in stock. I'm hoping in a few days I can go in and pick up my second and keep a solid frame rate. You can pretty much forget 120Hz 4K for now. Before I upgraded I had two GTX 970 cards. I found it was better to go to 1440P keep AA off and max everything else. It was enough to reach 60FPS. 4K monitors don't look too bad at 1440P and the game will look much nicer in high/ultra settings then medium at 4K.

Possible fix:
Please go in the Radeon settings, click on gaming tab. Then click on global tab. Please make sure that power efficiency is OFF.
If this setting is on it will throttle your video card and is usually on by default.0 -

I have the MSI 4GB R9 380 with a I5 6600K OC to 4.8Ghz. I do not get any fps lag with this setup but you need to make sure that the power efficiency setting is off.0

On Windows the max percentage of a task is 100% divided by the number of cores the processor has multiplied by the number of threads the task is running. For my my 5930K a single threaded task would max out at 8.33%. Just walking around town and flipping out to the task manager I saw a range of 10% to 20% professor usage. So 20% divided by 8.33 is 2.401 which means a minimum of three threads are being run.
The thing about Core i5 processors even the quad core ones is that yes they have enough cores to run the game. However the drivers for the hardware require CPU time as well. So now the CPU is cycling back and forth between the game and operating the hardware. A mainstream Core i7 like the 6700K allows for wasted cycles to be reapplied to additional threads. These threads will never be as fast as the main threads but they allow for more background tasks to be executed while still executing the foreground task which in this case is ESO.
This is the reason why people who think a Core i5 processor is good enough end up replying them more often then the Core i7 customers.0 -

This is because you one the best CPUs on the market right now. I just upgraded my sli 670s to 970s and the frame rate is essentially the same. I run the game on 3 monitors, 5760x1080. So 3/4 4k The reason for hardly a change is that I am using a 2500k at 4.4. so CPU is important. I am also unsure if ESO actually has sli support.

You missed my point. With the same CPU the graphics cards did make a difference. Of course you will also need a good CPU. You don't need an extreme graphics card (unless you want to d 4K at max detail) but I used SLI and a PCIe SSD. I intend to get back to two way SLI once I procure another GTX 1080.
What you are describing is a CPU bound system. If you check your utilization for your graphics cards I'm sure you will find that they are not close to 100%.

HAHAHAHA you did like the worst thing you could do. SLI doesn't work that way, you still only use one card worth of VRAM. And to top it, you picked 970s which drop to 10fps once VRAM usage goes over 3.5 GB.0
