I think it would be a really nice feature, just like how you have your weapon on your back while riding your horse. It just makes more sense as opposed to pulling a large staff or sword out of your arse any time you weapon swap.

Yeah, exactly. It would make you feel more like an adventurer. And if you do have 2 types of duel wielding, then they can be on you're back like the Breton in the cinematic.

Strangely, it's already in the game!
(I assume you are referring to weapons which aren't Staves, Bows, or Two Handers.)

It is possible but only through casting certain skills or the very rare bug that lasts for a second or so. Dual Wielded weapons can go on your back. Switch to a Sorcerer and cast Crystal Shards (with the cast time). Look at your character's back while you cast it. The dual swords will be crossed on your back!

It is possible, and should become available as an option to player.

The only issue I would have is getting confused on what weapon I have active. But, I get confused a lot on that, so......

    Maybe, I don't really care.
It depends on which weapon combo I have on that character.
Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.

    Meet my characters:
    Command: Do the thing.

Zadarri, Khajiit Fist of Thalmor: The thing was done, as commanded.
Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.
Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.
Ellaria Valerius, Imperial priestess: I'll pray to the Eight for the thing to be done, if it is Their will.

Don't see this as a big deal and near the bottom of any list based on priority. I see it creating an issue since where do my main weapons to when I'm not using them if my offbar weapons are on my back.

I don't because that's not realistic nor does it look cool IMO.

I'd rather 2 hand swords rest in a holster on my side and bows go over my should.
Staves should rest like 2-handers on the side too.

Unless artwork creates something the characters wear, nothing should ever be on the back because it's not easily accessible in battle like on the hip.

    Just my point of view

Me too, though it doesn't help that I'm always getting the bug where my character holds my dual swords the same way he holds his bow.

No, I like my back the way it is.
It depends on the weapon. A staff or two-handed sword might look cool resting on the back...but they do that already when they're out. And then there's my NB who duel-wields light weapons for both her armor sets-- I'd rather her have the extra daggers stashed in thigh holsters or something, not stuck to her back where it doesn't make sense to store them.

Showing secondary weapons, I could get behind, but not necessarily on the back. That only makes sense for certain weapons.

    Living vicariously through my characters.

    My Girls:
"If you were trapped in your house for, say, a year, how would you pass the time?"

Nephikah the Houseless, dunmer assassin: "I suppose I could use the break. I have a lot of business holdings now that need management."
Swum-Many-Waters, elderly argonian healer: "I think that I would enjoy writing a memoir."
Silh'ki, khajiit warrior-chef: "Would this one be able to go outside, to the nearby river? It's hard to fish without water!"
Peregrine Huntress, bosmer hunter: "Who is forcing me to stay inside, and where can I find them?"
Lorenyawe, altmer mechanist: "And why would I want to go outside in the first place? Too much to be done in the workshop."
Lorelai Magpie, breton master thief: "I'd go nuts. Lucky for me, I have a little experience sneaking out!"
Rasheda the Burning Heart, redguard knight: "I would continue my training to keep my skills sharp."
Hex-Eye Azabi, khajiit daedric priestess: "I suppose it would be lucky, then, that I built a shrine to Mephala in my backyard."
Yngva Stormhammer, nord bandit (reformed...ish): "I hate being inside even when I'm not forced to be. GET. ME. OUT."
Madam Argentia, vampire dunmer aristocrat: "I suppose it would be more of the same. I have a rather... contentious relationship with the sun."
Mazie gra-Bolga, orc scout: "Uh... I'd have to house train my bear..."
Felicia the Wanderer, imperial witch-for-hire: "What Lorelai said."
Calico Jaka-dra, retired khajiit pirate: "This one would like a rest from her grand adventures. Her jewel shop runs out of stock!"
Shimmerbeam, blind altmer psijic: "Provided that I am confined to Artaeum, I do not think I will want for things to occupy my time."
Shauna Blackfire, redguard necromancer: "Sounds like paradise. I hate people."
Kirniel the Undying, cursed bosmer warrior: "I would feel useless, not being able to fight."
Echoes-from-Dragons, argonian who thinks she's a dragon: "All the better to count my hoard!"

(Signature idea shamelessly stolen from Abeille.)

No. Seeing both weapons, one on back and one on side would confuse me, not know which one is currently active. I can quickly glance and see what is currently active -- needs to stay as-is.

No it's not natural to see 8 weapons on your back at once like in Last Of Us. Just the one your currently using on your back is most natural, it's fine just how it is.

This would look stupid with 2 staffs. It works well for Geralt with 2 longswords but wouldn't fit in with MMO weapons of various shapes and designs.

That happens when you put the finishing move on Molag Bal with dual swords equipped.
