The 130 item fence limit

Soul Shriven
The 130 item fence limit basically blocks you from continue playing until the next day. Atleast if you want to keep the stolen stuff in your inventory because most stealing occurs indoors and if you get caught stealing indoors youre dead since you cant escape guards indoors and when you die by a guard you loose the stolen goods. Theres no storing it in banks either since no banks allow stolen goods. So uhm zenimax where is the fun in this?

    Don't get caught?
    Don't steal indoors?

If there is no risk vs reward it would be pointless.

    What they said PLUS...

"Most stealing occurs indoors..." is a choice not an axiom.

One would imagine a strategy of leaving the outdoor thefts until the fencing limits are up so that lower risk of being caught comes at the same time as higher storage of stolen stuff.

Also, don't bother with white or green items if the limit is an issue for you.

"if you get caught stealing indoors"

    So don't get caught!

If you're worried about how much you might lose if you do get caught then don't steal.

Or carry pardons or lenient thingys around. If you only take the fine or rare items 130 equals quite a decent amount of gold for 1 day.

Not necessarily true. I got caught in the temple at Ebonheart completing a contract. First thought was: "Oh cruel fate... to be thussly boned!" (Bender, Futurama). But then ran to hide among the crates in the basement until the heat was off (as we all know the very moment you're caught the doors lock preventing any real escape until the "battle" is over). I was amazed to not only escape an epic beating but also got past the guard who was posted essentially right at the only exit.

Regarding the limit on stolen goods, I feel your pain and agree wholeheartedly. I also hit this limit from time to time.

You can maybe not escape from guards inside a bank or whatever OP but I sure as hell can...

    It's a skill but it's totally doable

Do the riskier thefts first. The first part of my round are the tight indoor spaces, where there's no escape room. Then, move to larger indoor spaces where you have some hidey holes to escape the guards (NB shadow cloak helps a LOT with this ;) ), then do any outdoor pickpocketing and low-risk, upper-floor-type thefts.

And stop biting off more than you can chew. Or rather, stop stealing more than you can sell. Because once you hit the 130-item limit, you have to wait until the next day no matter what, and then what? You sell yesterday's remainders, and then you have an even smaller fencing counter that day, and anything extra over that will have to wait until the next day. The cycle continues endlessly.

The bottom line is you can sell 130 items a day, no matter when you stole them. So there's no point in stealing more than 130 items a day.

Just be smart about your thieving. Don't steal junk items like clothing and provisioning ingredients. Launder anything that might be useful in other ways, like soul gems. Between clearing areas, take pit stops at the refuge to fence off your current load (lest you get caught while you have an inventory full of pilfered loot!), and when you do, keep an eye on the counter. When you hit the fencing limit, stop. Go do a few dungeons, or play on a different character, or whatever you want to do. Just let the larceny wait until tomorrow.

Stopping when you've hit the fencing limit means you can have all the more thieving fun the next day. So there's really no reason you should be going over it.

    My Girls:
"If you were trapped in your house for, say, a year, how would you pass the time?"

Nephikah the Houseless, dunmer assassin: "I suppose I could use the break. I have a lot of business holdings now that need management."
Swum-Many-Waters, elderly argonian healer: "I think that I would enjoy writing a memoir."
Silh'ki, khajiit warrior-chef: "Would this one be able to go outside, to the nearby river? It's hard to fish without water!"
Peregrine Huntress, bosmer hunter: "Who is forcing me to stay inside, and where can I find them?"
Lorenyawe, altmer mechanist: "And why would I want to go outside in the first place? Too much to be done in the workshop."
Lorelai Magpie, breton master thief: "I'd go nuts. Lucky for me, I have a little experience sneaking out!"
Rasheda the Burning Heart, redguard knight: "I would continue my training to keep my skills sharp."
Hex-Eye Azabi, khajiit daedric priestess: "I suppose it would be lucky, then, that I built a shrine to Mephala in my backyard."
Yngva Stormhammer, nord bandit (reformed...ish): "I hate being inside even when I'm not forced to be. GET. ME. OUT."
Madam Argentia, vampire dunmer aristocrat: "I suppose it would be more of the same. I have a rather... contentious relationship with the sun."
Mazie gra-Bolga, orc scout: "Uh... I'd have to house train my bear..."
Felicia the Wanderer, imperial witch-for-hire: "What Lorelai said."
Calico Jaka-dra, retired khajiit pirate: "This one would like a rest from her grand adventures. Her jewel shop runs out of stock!"
Shimmerbeam, blind altmer psijic: "Provided that I am confined to Artaeum, I do not think I will want for things to occupy my time."
Shauna Blackfire, redguard necromancer: "Sounds like paradise. I hate people."
Kirniel the Undying, cursed bosmer warrior: "I would feel useless, not being able to fight."
Echoes-from-Dragons, argonian who thinks she's a dragon: "All the better to count my hoard!"

Legerdemain is already a way to mint gold in the game. No need to raise the daily limit (which is 140, not 130 items)
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

This. And then there is the 140 laundering, too.

If you're selling more 280 stolen things a day, you need to run some pledges or pvp a bit!

The only reason to launder something is if you want to keep it or sell it in a guild store (ie, recipes, motifs, set gear). You are losing gold if you launder to vendor.
