Why not make the Craft bag a 1 Time Purchase?

I was hoping if i subbed once then it would remain unlocked once my sub ran out like account unlocks in other games like lotro etc work but at least i think it should be a 1 time purchase for lets say 2k crowns account wide. I like the game but what i loved most about ESO was the fact i did NOT need a sub, i could play what days i wanted and buy the expansions as 1 time purchases for life so i did not need to sub... Now it's like i feel forced to sub to not run out of bag space 24/7 making buying the expansions actually now pointless... why buy expansions if you force me to sub? but then make me dislike a major thing i liked about the game in the first place? Artificial making millions of mats in the game and super tiny bag space then making a sub only craft bag just seems dubious to me

Some_Guy✭✭✭✭In short: It's a reward that will only be offered to people who subscribe. It will not be made a one-time purchase because Zenimax sees it as just that (as said in numerous other posts on the exact same topic).
As pointed out by others, you are not being forced to sub. Thousands (possibly millions) of players made it work without the craft bag. The craft bag is not a necessity, it is a perk that makes inventory control easier. You had a sub, so I don't need to tell you that it reeeeeeeallly does make inventory management sooooo much easier. But I (and many others) made it work before them by buying inventory upgrades from pack merchants and carry capacity upgrades for our mounts. I have 180 bag space on 6 or 7 toons, and over 200 in my bank. It took me a long time to make the money and build up that inventory space, and I had to spread my inventory among numerous toons, but it worked. So you aren't being forced to sub. Unless you want the bag, then yeah, you have to sub.
If you want more than that, search for it, or hopefully more people will reply without the usual name-calling trolls that are more than abundant in posts like this one.We Wipe On Trash

PC had mods to help with the alt thing but i'm now playing on PS4 with 3 friends, and it's much more of a nightmare to deal with alts. On PC i have my own guild with 500 bank spaces 480 ish all filled already with mats. I have 400 gold on PS4 so can't afford anything yet and my bank and bag are full i will end up having to delete many wanted items now. The game has purposely though made it hard and annoying to keep items that is clear, I just wish MMO's gave Limited bag space but Unlimited Bank space... MMO's used to do that... before they realized they could charge for it (looking at you SWTOR you *** milking machine)0 -

get a sub, its worth it, you really cant complain about a game that you dont help support, and no, your one time purchases DO NOT help keep the lights on, and for server maintwenence and r&d for new content.0

Of course it does... its like buying a new game. And guild wars 2 has constant free updates for years for free and made an expansion. The crown store alone will keep the game running ive bought 3 mounts on there at like 12 quid a pop each. Server fees in this age are cheap now to.0 -

I'm guessing if some people feel the crafting bag is a big deal to have, that was their intent. They want people to subscribe. On the plus side, if your subscription lapses you can still use everything you stored in the bag and not have to remove it. You just can't add to it. So you could always subscribe occasionally to dump more mats in there as you run out of space. Plus you'll get all the other perks for the month including 1500 crowns which is more generous than most subscriptions.Dream it, wish it, do it... or something...0 -
Adam_Chattaway✭✭✭✭Im torn between both pc and ps4 versions. I dont wanna sub to both but i was always dissapointed this game was never 1 mega server and crossplatform like ffxiv. I mean its an even bigger shame that the us and ei servers are split up to so i cant play with my eu and american friends as everyone is split up. They original said it would be 1 server for world like sto and other mmos which seem to cope without ping issues. Also destiny on ps4 is 1 world wide server and i always play that fos shooter with americans from uk and no one has ping issues?0

If you can get it outside of subbing there is no incentive to sub.

But the solution isn't to outright sell the unlimited crafting bag. There just needs to be some way to convert some individual bag space that you've already earned into shared bank space as you need it. All the crafting bag really does is encourage hoarding; I'm honestly never going to use most of what I have collected in there.
It's sad, really; charging people to sit on excesses of imaginary *** for not much more than bragging rights for having the money to do so.
Maybe one day the team will find some adults who can think through solutions a little better.signing off0 -
