Just in regards to veteran Maelstrom, I love that it is as hard as it is and I love that it is rewarding. I am only just up to the 7th round now but I was just wandering why the Maelstrom arena is so different to DSA in the sense that normal mode doesn't give you a lower level weapon? It seems like these weapons enable some builds and they can only be obtained by having a top end build and grinding an extremely difficult (for beginners) arena. It's not just to do with skill either, I get people all the time saying that it is easy to complete and that all you need is practice which while true, what about Australians and New Zealanders and anyone else that sits on 300 ping constantly.

I just think that maybe adding the weapons at cp140 for normal completions would allow people to still do these builds without having to practice an arena that I'm sure a lot of people just cannot complete no matter how hard they try. Then people can get the cp140 weapons to make vet maelstrom a little easier for themselves. Even if normal mode was a little bit harder.

Would love to hear from a dev on why they chose to change the system from DSA.

contrary to popular belief it's about knowing the mechanics and mob spawns over having a lower ping. also, maelstrom weapons would still be miles ahead even at cp140. it took me 2 weeks for my first clear, it's the hardest solo content in the game. you can't say the same for vdsa.

That's not a valid excuse, I play from Argentina with a constant ping of 240-280 and I got 545k on nbs.

Although I'd actually be ok with your idea, currently there is little to no reason to run normal ma but to check the mechanics for the first time since all six sets are just terrible. This would also allow Zos to leave the current level of the vet version as it is even if 'their data shows that not enough people is completing it'.

I'm not sure ping is the exact issue perhaps packets being routed around the world. But I've noticed from my runs that I see something quite different than what many of the video's I've watched see. Invisible NPC's, fire/poison that apears 2 seconds after you are dead and 10m to the right of where you are dead at, multiple waves of adds spawning at once. At least 50% of the time when things do go fine the game will freeze and you will have to restart your xbox.

Knowing the mechanics and spawns makes it much easier but only in so much as the mechanics actually work properly. It is clearly different when they do from when they don't, its the difference between cake walking through the first 4-5 rounds and dying on round 4's boss because NPC's are inexplicably immune to damage for 2-5s and fire is not where it appears to be.

I play from Texas, it was really lousy right after DB and before the first patch to xbox, its gotten a bit better but I still see fairly consistent glitches.

Blaming ping is a poor excuse. I'm from Australia and my home internet has been down for a month due to a fault in the line so I have been hot spotting from my phone with 3 bars and still get leaderboard scores on 3 characters one of them a stam Sorc. It really is just practice and memorising mob spawns
