Will the Armor set level be raised to CP-180 next DLC ?

Or will ZOS make in Q3 another balancing consolidation round with overhauling the Racials and possibly the meta stacking of high DPS with high self-HPS ?

Perhaps somebody heard some statement of the ZOS management about this ?

I hope they increase gear level and CP cap maybe make the new gear at CP 200 or something and increase the CP cap to 601 that would be great.

I doubt they will raise the CP cap. Fengrush made a clear point about its faults that make me agree that the CP system is flawed.

As for combat in the next patch you are wrong, everything will be focused on Magicka DPS the games DLC has always been a huge tug of war between Stamina and magicka.

Though I doubt Sorcerer will get the complete overhaul it needs with @Wrobel in charge on combat development.

Quite frankly I expect him to boost proximity detonation before he touches a class he intentionally broke into a rigid build to remain competent.

Not gonna happen since 601 is not divisible by 3.

It would make more sense for them to increase it by 51 each time so it it divisible by 3.

ZOS scaled SO to CP160 and if the next patch will raise the cap to CP180 they can do it again...
    Sounds very smart

    Youre baiting right ? hehe.

I think we may well have housing and such things in Q3.
Judging by the way Rich Lambert was eager to divulge such info and speculate that kind of ETA at the last conference.
NB speculation is not confirmation !

Normally you only get level rise with new content + experience.
I really don't think the content will be a new zone if they want to release this other quality of life stuff.

So same level, same cap, more balance work, many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many bug fixes and probably a major review on a lot of systems as they are now.

Vet removal has bought with it a shed load of issues that need ironing out.
Probably a new zone in time for new year period though

It is a grey rainy Sunday afternoon here in Holland and I needed a break from playing.

but levelling currently a Stamina Sorc, a completely other kind of character than the rest of my account, I need to make and obtain other Armor sets than I have in my Tank set Armory.
and that involves a lot of invest !
    So... practically:
go for purple and no Hakeijo's or for better ?
    (Weapon always gold).

And thinking about that, I was also wondering how ZOS is going to handle this horizontal progress regarding the Armor set level in general.

My current best guess is that the Armor set CP cap will be kept substantially lower than the CP cap.
Because CP levelling by the CP catch up mechanism goes very fast to the Armor set CP cap, also new players can obtain the latest endgame gear, that is not behind a grinding wall, pretty fast.

    Ah...levelling a stam sorc.
Worried if investing in any gear will be a waist of time, materials and effort ?

I would love to think gear level isn't gonna go beyond 160.
But the only commitment was they wanted gear and level to be handled separately.
I am not even convinced its been done in the interests of horizontal progression.

After all, they could have kept gear at v12 and let levels hit v16 if they really wanted to.
No wasted resource gathering, crafting and gear.
Content would still be easier for v16 with v12 gear than v12 players with v12 gear regardless.
Could have been scaled to v16 players with v12 gear.

I would just knock up some temporary gear myself.
I find it almost impossible to get gold tempers these days.
Although I have been advised crafting writs is the only way to go.
Then you have to burn through all the mats, to do the writs, to get the tempers though :(
Considering the gulf in mats required for v16 stuff that gets annoying fast.
Purple power is reasonably plentiful and you can knock out 10 v15 pieces for oone single v16.
If you can suffer the losses, I'd go cheap for now until we see what ZOS real intentions are.

    Nothing changes.
If you have a craftbag full of gold and v16 mats then it doesnt really matter I guess.

EDIT: of course...they did make a big thing of seasonal gear once a year ?
Perhaps we will jump 20 gear cp every year ?

I dont understand why they need to add gear grind, theres CP system, gear upgrades and they are already using battleveling, yet they wanna add more.

I fear the plan is to add CP-gears, then yet again battelevel then later, very idiotic, but I suppose that does the trick. Ive visioned this game as gears are just fun, hc/vet players has multiple sets and builds, when casuals and new players uses one set/build, CP is main source of power, what should be easily attainable by everybody, whatever what they like to do, PVE, PVP, craft, alts etc, then gear upgrades just time-sink with minor power.

I want them to scale all the current sets in game to CP160 before they even start to think of upgrading to CP180.
Even then, I wouldn't want them to raise it as then the number of materials it would take to create that CP180 gear would be monstrous, considering that CP160 gear is already bad enough to get materials for.

If there will be higher cp gears one day...

There will be new mats for cp 170 and cp 180 if any.
Another material for 190 and 200.
Also the recipe will be the same ... like 15 vs 150.

Will we ever see higher levels? They could incorporate higher cp level sets and or materials through rare drops. Do higher tier difficulty events and be rewarded wit higher sets otherwise unobtainable... that's out of the question though, right?

Champion point cap is what, 3600? We might see that in 10 years or so....

I'd rather see brand new sets than having to focus on gain the old ones all over again.

And I don't see why anyone would want to raise the CP cap further. It will only make PvE content easier, something people already complain about, and homogenize the allocation of CP points further.

I am happy to stray from that annoying Rubedite Red color on my weapons, but not really to regear my characters.

It will most likely arrive with the 4th Quarter 2016 DLC, but if not, almost definitely with the 1st Quarter 2017 DLC.

No they won't be raising gear level in the next installment. If they were it would already be on the PTS and it isn't.

I really hope they do not raise gear level at all. We do not need it. We have CP system that increases everything, and by raising the CP cap by 51 with each new dlc, there is no need to raise gear level.

Raising gear level creates the problem of grinding for more gold upgrades, which a rare. Many are still grinding gold upgrades for 160 gear. How annoyed will people be if they only just get a full set of gold, and then it becomes instantly outdated by new 180 gear?

What would be the point of new 180? How would it help the game in any way?

I think its a bad idea!

Instead, what I think most of us would like to see would be the ability to dye weapons. Being limited to Ruby red weapons has gotten very old and seems pointless, IMHO.

    They would be crucifying themselves...

This method of re-gearing is what is slowly killing WoW...

Champion Points is a step in the right direction and good on them to implement something innovative!

I suggest the new mats are simply cosmetic and do not offer any "gear / level" advantages...

So that in the future you have Mithril, Gold, Silver, Sapherite / Topazite / Emeraldite / Mammoth hide / Drakeskin hide or whatever else they can think of but it does not render your old gear sets useless...

So that the only thing you will do with say new patches is grind one or 2 sets of the new gear sets so you have it.

vMA, DSA, PvP sets, Legendary jewellery, Trial sets, Dolmen sets like the Lich...

People do NOT want to regrind ^ THAT

CP cap should be raised to 1002 as soon as possible, in my opinion.

Gear cap, however, should not be raised at all, but some kind of random attribute enchant or overenchant system should be introduced that offers nearly endless improvement options for gear but only makes it minimally stronger or makes it just look more unique so hardcore players have some way to still progress in the game.

((ESO also badly needs some form of class specialization system or skill enchantment system (or Spellcrafting). Only 4 classes that have gained no new abilities since launch but instead have had all their existing abilities changed over and over again. Everyone has to respec once every 3 months but then we all respec to the same build again which is the new best build in the updated meta. I don't feel very unique as a Magicka DK when all other Magicka DKs in the game are pretty much the exact same build, including gear (and difficult content like VMA drives everyone to use the same, optimized builds).
The Champion system, on the other hand, should really be converted into a vertical progress system where players can unlock more passives to choose from but can only have a limited number of passives (one per category) activated at the same time so new players can unlock one passive for each category fairly fast and there's not too much of a power gap between new players and veterans. Veterans would just have more passives to choose from (could only be changed at specific NPCs/stations in towns).))

But that's just my opinion. Feel free to disagree/hate/flame/ignore.

I tend to think its what kept WoW somewhat fresh over the years. No progression = game getting stale, people getting bored.
