Gold Cost Bosses

Can anyone explain how does the Motif drop rate of these bosses works?
I been farming on Hrota cave, and after 8 kills I got loot but no motif. I been told is a timing and DPS issue, The same goes with the Minotaur boss only one Motif after more than 10 kills.
Is there a work around on these bosses?

I think I get chapters about 30% or so of the time. It differs but ultimately I do not see a lack of them. In fact, I get a lot of repeats often... Then again, I don't farm them either. I take whatever I can get (which depends on my character, my arrival timing, and the size of the crowd present) when I get it, and it is satisfactory to a degree.

2 world Bosses you either have to do 10% of the damage to the boss to get a chance at loot. Unless you are a healer. Healers seem to have no problem at loot for these bosses.

The smaller bosses in the delves are the same thing but with signifigantly smaller health pools. So it's a crap shoot to get loot depending if you did enough dps.

Both my healer and tank manage to get loot from the bosses, but not always. My healer runs heals and takes every chance to attack the boss, usually with Entropy and R. Staff. My tank tends to lay down things like Overflowing Altar and Cleansing Ritual as well as use Sun Shield and Inner Fire and then tank away, with Rune Focus as additional support. He also uses Ultimates when he can. Using your role to the best of your ability tends to get the loot, but it's never surefire as various factors can interfere, especially ads.
