Gap Closers - Reportable or Acceptable?

Edit: I know this is a touchy subject but please keep comments civil and constructive

Thought I'd play some PvP as it's been a while since I attempted the real stuff. Wow, I can see what people are saying about gap closers :/ I don't remember it being that bad before (or at all!). I have a teleportation strike on my Nightblade but chose to disable it in PvP.

Now, my question is - has this actually been confirmed as an exploit and therefore reportable? Or is this just an acceptable method of attack?

Edit: Forgot to mention I record everything, so there's no escape

Officially reportable as of today. Now whether ZOS will do jack or squat about your report is a whole other thing...

Tl;dr really weigh the fun you have in game vs the business practices you are supporting.

Jessica confirmed it was an exploit and indeed reportable just after DB dropped on PC, but even with clear video evidence nothing happens about it anyway :/

Both. ZOS has says it is an exploit, so reportable. They have never done anything about it, so acceptable.

I think they're saying today , they're gonna start doing something about it . Don't be dumb and lose your account to a guess .

If ZOS was gonna fix it they would have by now.

Why is it a exploit if almost everyone can do it.

Because the people who designed the game said so.

There doesn't need to be ANY other reason. Ever.

I'd rather if they sort out this Xbox problem with ESO plus, we're all paying for it and not receiving it! Absolute joke, but hey it's ZOS they have better things to do like blow each other.

You never used to be able to do it, as far as I know.

Broken mechanic that has never been completely fixed since release (one or more abilities have been able to get into keeps at various times since release). Reporting however is pointless as no action has ever been taken against players. Eventually it will become a "feature"

At one time, animation cancelling was considered to be unintended, but when they couldn't fix it, it became an official "feature". Once this is deemed unfixable, it'll be another "feature" to use instead of slow sieges.

Just to be clear, are we talking about using them to get on keeps? It didnt actually say (might have been on purpose).

Report away, doubt it will do much.

In other news, not totally sure this is that big of a deal. I can see it being a problem if an Emp or someone really good at 1vX is doing it i suppsose. This has happened to me a few times on accident, usually ambushing through a door. It usually doesnt accomplish much because you are likely wildly out numbered with no place to go. haha

I don't get this topic. Gap closers as In skills that charge the enemy are exploits ? When it's the point of the skill ?

    What ?

Good point. Surely that's just as bad? I mean, you're jumping a necessary stage of taking a keep and avoiding the intended method of attack.

    From another thread.
you will never got a ban for jumping to the keep walls

    im doing it every day

and i feel myself very safe agains any bans

please ZOS, show me your hammer lol

    but you will not
    because you cant :D

i dont care what you said
but for me its intended mechanics and i will continue to play like that, to use gapclosers and jump to walls
until it will not be nerfed

I hope you get your wish. It's not intended mechanics. ZoS have already stated that gaining entry to a keep without sieging is an exploit.

not fixed for 2 years of game - intended
    will be nerfed - okay
until this all pvp player will use it like me

maybe zos said its not intended
    well, i dont care

but its logically and obviously looks very natural for me
i have a skill to jump for big distance
im using it to up on the big wall

nothing against the nature of pvp, nothing against game atmosphere and logic

OK. ZoS did say it was unintended.

    Assassination
Teleport Strike: Fixed an issue where this ability and its morphs could be used to get on top of Keep walls.

    @ZOS_JessicaFolsom
    Thanks for the Patch notes.

Great fix but where is the corresponding fix for DKs that are still able to get into keeps since ages?
I would really appreciate if you could discuss this with the Dev Team.

A simply question, why DKs are still allowed to jump into keeps?

It is not intended that players can completely bypass core Keep capture mechanics by leaping onto walls and into enemy Keeps. You should always have to enter enemy Keeps by taking down a door or wall - any other way is a bug. We are aware that Dragonknights have been able to do this for a while, and and are working to change it.

@ZOS_JessicaFolsom acknowledges this is a bug. Using bugs knowingly in game is an exploit.

All of the above from the ToS is grounds to be banned. I am not sure how it can be confusing.

Posted this from my phone. You may need to open the previous quotes to see Jessica's comment. It came from the patch notes awhile back.
