Well since we have players coming from all over the world (and even Asia now), you can't setup a maintenance time that doesn't screw someones playtime.

EU means EUROPEAN SERVER! It doesn't mean WORLD WIDE server cause then it would have bin called WW server. Besides before last DLC time table was at 3 in the morning. So no BS comments please!

I have to inform you kind sir that IT people can control servers remotely in this day and age. Since you don't seem too brilliant I will explain the consequence:

It means a team from one country (let's say USA) can perform maintenance on servers all over the world thanks to the Internets.

No indeed, but when the EU and NA servers have been maintained at different times for two years with the EU server having downtime in the middle of the night in Europe and then it's suddenly changed so both servers are maintained at the same time with the EU server having downtime in the day then you are perfectly entitled to complain about it and ask for the original arrangements to be reinstated. That's a perfectly reasonably request especially as there are no apparent performance or other benefits to the new arrangements.

I understand the complaint, I really do. I'm home at the moment, and would like to play. I don't like it, but it is what it is.
However, ZeniMax is a business. Their function is to make money, and bringing server maintenance together at a single time saves money, and possibly increases staff happiness (admins don't have to work overtime to do exactly the same update process they did several hours before). Additionally, it means ZeniMax can shut down, deploy, start up, test and fix all at the same time which makes sense from a deployment perspective.

When you only have one deployment team (as it seems ZeniMax does), it makes sense to consolidate the deployment times together.

You can complain about it, all feedback is helpful to some degree and yes, you can ask them to reinstate the original times. However, ZeniMax doesn't have to listen - because you signed the TOS/EULA when you ran the game.

I don't mind people notifying ZeniMax of their displeasure; I have a problem with people playing the "I'm a paying customer" card; as if that gives them certain rights over ZeniMax (which, if they read the TOS/EULA, they'd know wasn't the case). :)

Again, you accepted that sometimes the servers will be down. Complaining about it now is like complaining about getting a speeding fine even though you knew there was a speed limit. It's non sequitur.

Have you ever worked on multi-locational server upgrades?
    Didn't think so.

I didn't say it wasn't the same amount of work, I said it saves time, money and increases staff happiness and productivity during deployment.

To explain it further: If it takes 5 hours to update US server, and 5 hours to update EU server, that's 10 hours of work. If you do the updates simultaneously, then you are saving 5 hours. You are saving 5 hours of overtime pay. You have increased staff happiness (because they're sleeping, instead of working) and you've increased the productivity of the company.

Actually I can. It's my right and I just did.
I don't really care what you quote. If they can't do it right they should, like some of the other games, have an Australasian server.
    It's called customer service.

If you enjoy looking like an entitled, ignorant customer. Go for it. I can't won't stop you.

Going by useless statements like that it only shows Ignorance seems to be more prevalent from the controller of your keyboard and not mine

    I LIKE MAI'Q

    also Ignorance isn't a proper noun >_> ignorance* :3

Now that really p****** me off!
Get home from work at 6pm in the evening weary and wanting some down time so ready to play a bit of ESO...that I have paid $14 a month for for the last 2 years.
Play for one minute .....AND IT GOES OFF LINE for a ANOTHER bloody patch!!!....NOT HAPPY
Take note ESO people : 6pm is prime time in Australia! use your brains and at least let us play when we get home from work

I refer you to the following: https://www.zenimax.com/legal_terms_us
In particular, Section 6: Availability of Services and Content; Game Maintenance, Patches, Updates; Termination of Services

    Paragraph1, Sentence 1:
ZeniMax does not guarantee that any Services will be available at all times, in all countries and/or all geographic locations, at any given time, or that ZeniMax will continue to offer any particular Services for any particular length of time.

As well as, same Section, Paragraph 2, Sentence 1:
ZeniMax may patch, update, or modify a Service at any time with or without notice to You.

    You installed the game.
    You accepted the TOS/EULA.
You can't cry foul and play the "paying customer" card when things don't go your way.

Actually there's a post in the German section of the forums where @ZOS_KaiSchober says simultaneous maintenance will allow us in the future to use only 1 game client to play either NA or EU. Why nobody else from ZOS will say this every time the issue of EU maintenance comes up, I have no idea. ZOS works in mysterious ways...
