Dual wield viable in pvp? StamDk

Currently I'm using s&b for my offensive bar and 2hander for my buff bar. With the changes to dw would it work in cyrodiil or is flurry still just to slow? I hate using 2handers and only use Rally which I have a class skills for. I thought maybe going dw/bow or is that a bad idea?

I run 2h and bow on my dk but have thought about trying dw with the vma daggers in cyro so I would also be interested if someone has a viable build, I would think dw and 1h shield would be better for gap closer. But maybe a bow focused build with dw for up close or that fighters guild chains.

I don't have ms weapons yet, I was thinking of using leap as a gap closer, haven't looked Into silver shards yet. I just wished we had a spammable in stead of resorting to uppercut and morphs, that's why I go s&b but it's not enough I feel.

I use dw and bow on my stam dk. I mainly ise the bow unless on a flag then steel tornado gets used. I wasnt a massive fan of 2h. I use leap as gap closer and always try to have enough magica to still use talons to root. I use silver shards all the time. :)

DW is fine for Cyrodiil, yes flurry is slow but used together with venomous claw and or noxious breath it does quite some damage. I hate 2H spam because it's borring and requires only a single skill, keep rally up and spam uppercut/executioner.

Flurry will work with fossilize against unexperienced players.
Silver shards is broken in PVP, don't use it as a gap closer (works 10% of the time tops with me).

DW is viable, but I strongly agree with @leepalmer95 :

certainly viable, not my favourite, though. between the need for a gap-closer, the strength of heroic slash/reverb plus bash, and also the strength of several bow abilities this patch, I personally, wouldn't use dw on anything except stam nbs. but all other three stam classes can certainly make great use of dw if they want to. it's just that i usually find it hard enough to limit myself on two of the other three

No gap closer on DW, but Hidden Blade (either morph) can hit like a truck from range and gives Major Brutality. If you can gap close in other ways, and aren't completely in love with Crit Rush/Dizzying Swing, DW is still plenty strong.

There are pros and cons to DW and likewise for 2 Hander.

    My pros for DW:
    1. Quick cloak is amazing for both mobility and damage reduction to AOE.
    2. Flurry (blodthirst morph) is a great heal! And, it is fast!! Two bad things about this ability is there are many Shuffle users these days and because of that, if the first hit misses, they all miss (least that is what I have observed). Fast moving targets can be a challenge to land hits. As such, Fossilize helps... or a reverb bash and then switch to DW bar to execute Flurry. Fossilize makes landing so much easier!!
    3. 5 piece sets are achievable with DW (For example, Fury set) I personally think that this is a huge bonus of DW!
    4. Steel Tornado is superb AOE damage. Pop Corrosive Armor and SPIN to WIN! :)

I personally feel that DW + S/B synergize quite well with each other especially if you want to run 5 + 5 + 2 setup.

DW also goes well with DK, if you want to push DoTs. Blood Craze is another good one to pile on.

    I'm trying this now
    5/1/1
    1p bloodspawn
    1p kena
    4p leki
    4p morkuldin
    3p agility

Got around 32k stam with 1900 regen ( max health + Stam regen food)
I believe I have around 2600-2700k dmg unbuffed, I'll need to check.
    My bars are

    Shielded assault
    Ransack
    Venomous claw
    Reverberating bash
    Vigor
    Ult flawless dawnbreaker

    Hidden blade
    Igneous weapons
    Steel tornado
    Shuffle
    Healing flurry morph
    Ult dragon leap

    What do you guys think?

Igneous Weapons and Hidden Blade are redundant, both grant Major Brutality and it doesn't stack. Hidden Blade does damage while granting Major Brutality so I'd keep that one, unless you're looking to buff the group. Blood Craze or Noxious Breath would apply another DoT, just as a suggestion.

Mhh I guess you're right about that, I just figured igneous weapons to be the buff and hidden blade a range dps skill. Might go with noxious breath just for the dk feel

Dw/bow would be a monster. 4 heavy dots ticking, 1 from range, not mentioning DBoS. Problem is rally is soooo essential to any stam build unless you got a pocket heals.

Or if you run high health recovery in heavy armor.

    Never thought off that. Nice
