I agree with you as I've said the same thing long ago. It should be a 1 time cost to buy a barber assistant that's available to all of your characters that you can summon at will.

It is... minus the NPC.
Once purchased; hairstyles and adornments and such can be swapped out at will.
You just can't change your race, sex or body or whatever without a token.
I would toss a brick tru the shop windoww ,its no dress-up game .
but there should be an gamegold buy possibility but they are greedy so it i think they do a eso plus ripof as thgey did with the mat bags .

idgaf about changing hairstyles, I just want to fix his stupid looking face that I quickly made the first night when playing with friends.
*sigh*As I've stated in the other similar thread, I think people are making mountains out of mole hills and keep forgetting that ZOS needs to make money, serious money, to keep the game going. Adding 'one time charges' and things like that don't keep the doors open, it's the constant influx of REAL money, not in-game gold, that keeps the game afloat. With ONLY 7M 'accounts' ZOS is far behind the eight-ball compared to other 'world-wide' MMOs and with their staff, server costs, other overhead, and demanding shareholders, they need to find as many ways to generate constant revenue as possible. People may complain, but if you want the options to make changes 'after the fact', these are on YOU, not ZOS... I just do not believe in this whole 'lack of personal responsibility' generation we live in today. "I want to change the look of my character, why won't ZOS let me do it for free?" Because you CHOSE to create your character the way you did, so suck it up that it's YOUR FAULT, accept responsibility, and pay the cost to make changes.

Me too! My first character has a good face, however...a big bulky back, and boobies to the maximum because I thought they looked small in character creation, and now she looks really unproportionate (is that even a word ;___;?) and not fit for a healer xD

Name change is purchased with Crowns and done at Character Select.
Race and Gender change are purchased as a single token with Crowns and when logging into the world, character select comes up allowing customization of race, gender, and appearance.
Appearance changes not related to Race and Gender are paid in gold and done through an in-game "barbershop" that opens up the same character customization screen that is used for Race and Gender change.
And, for further reflection...
Alliance change is done in Cyrodiil. To change Alliance, you must actually go through Cyrodiil to the Alliance you want to change to and talk to an NPC at or near one of the gates. If you can get that far and get through the NPC dialog without being killed, you change Alliance immediately, lose all AP, and have a reduction in Alliance Rank. You should not be able to change Alliance more than once during the duration of the campaign, possibly longer, and you should only be able to change to an Alliance you have not been in (no going back).
Class change is done by the Divines, like Attribute and Skill, and refunds all Attribute, Class Skill, and Champion points at once for gold.
