Ah yes. With a side order of snore. Yummy!
Is snore a type of tea? I'm British and I only know 1 type of tea: coffee.

If they do the maintenance in the middle of the night, it will break the immersion of whichever group of heroes is nightcapping their campaign in Cyrodiil that night.....
Because ZOS is unwilling to pay workers higher fees for working during the night even if it accomodates their player base, simple as that.

Yesterdays patch was the scheduled maintenance, today's the emergency patch for a game-breaking bug; the thread got shut down and then the maintenance came on. There might be a rollback for the people that exploited this bug.
Edit: And I'm not saying what it is. I just hope it's patched in this maintenance.
You would have thought that with a 5 hour maintenance they will find the time to write one comment XD

It most probably is a patch to the bug I arose earlier, within the maintenance. Hence why it is taking so long. Unless it's not and something has gone wrong with maintenance.
Kind of doubt it since NA servers are still up. Guessing it is a hardware issue and yes probably gone a little wrong. But who knows.
but all the console shiz in EU is down too....
Exactly, it is the EU datacenter and all EU servers are down, including the EU PC server which was just patched yesterday. And this downtime was scheduled. It's likely got less to do with the game itself, and more to do with I don't know, they are having new a/c installed in the server room or something.
and it's not an EXPLOIT - the way some people throw around words.

Exactly this. In the german forums Kai Schober wrote that it's not a ZOS maintenance today. The Datacenter in Frankfurt has maintenance today, that's why console and PC servers are down at the same time. No bug fix, no natch potes.
