If they do the maintenance in the middle of the night, it will break the immersion of whichever group of heroes is nightcapping their campaign in Cyrodiil that night.....
Because ZOS is unwilling to pay workers higher fees for working during the night even if it accomodates their player base, simple as that.
better maintenance runs for the players will make us spend more money..

maintenance is one thing. it sucks it almost 6 hours of potential playtime but hey ***, things break/need to be fixed. What i do find infuriating is the lack of communication.3

It's likely got less to do with the game itself, and more to do with I don't know, they are having new a/c installed in the server room or something.
Exactly this. In the german forums Kai Schober wrote that it's not a ZOS maintenance today. The Datacenter in Frankfurt has maintenance today, that's why console and PC servers are down at the same time. No bug fix, no natch potes.PC | EU

If somebody is aware of a bug, and use it to their advantage, I personally call that an exploitation of an unintended feature.
What would you call it? Suppose I happened to stumble upon the thread in question which had revealed the bug to a few people before getting closed down, and I went to 'test' this bug for a few hours...

Seriously, is it so hard to understand the importance of communication? All we know is that this week we've had 2 down times in a row, both during daytime, and not even an official statement about the reason for the second one.4 -
