Warning to new players like myself

white_boy8238b14_ESO
First off, this is a little venting at my stupidity, but also a warning that'll probably be buried or deleted, which is fine.

Don't buy werewolf upgrade unless you are 100% sure you want it on your character early. I didn't know a few things that I hope other can learn that I wish I had known.
1. It's only on one character
2. It's instant on the current character.

I wish I hadn't bought it right away, I was naive, having just bought the game with 4 other buddies and was excited to see I could become a werewolf. I thought it would be an item so that I could activate it whenever I chose, I also thought it would be on all future characters seeing as its 15$.

What I regret is that its on a character I made to feel around with races and one I don't want it on. I would love it on my sorceress since I'm trying for a dark knight class.

But lesson learned, I'm a little bit mixed with feeling. Feeling frustrated, annoyed, let down, kinda tricked. But ultimately it's my fault for get roo excited. Kind of sucks learning this way.

Feel free to call me newbie and idiot.

IDK where you are, but if EU server, DC Faction (although I do have some from other factions in guild who can help) email @Mureel in game and I can sort you out with a WW bite for free when you're ready.

ZOS capitalised on the fact that people pay in game gold for WW bites by putting them in crown store, but many of us already offered them for free.

What's even worse is you can't really have a magika WW. They will be so weak. You need a redguard stam blade or DK. Something zos failed to point out early on. I tried playing the game like skyrim having magic and swords etc but that didn't work being a sorc in heavy armour with attributes all over the place. The tool tips in this game are very vague. But cash trap right? You're making shareholders happy and fatter so maybe you'll find some comfort in that. I guess we all have by now.

Well, that 15$ was a cash grab move by ZO$.
But, don't worry there are others that will give you a free bite in game. Just ask to your guild mates or type in chat " LF WW bite or WTB WW bite".

Sadly I'm on the NA server, but I appreciate the offer, was hoping to have a couple characters with it, mainly my nord dk and de sorc. I'll be honest, I didn't think it would be hard having the sorc be a dark knight. I'm mainly (atm) playing it less for what strongest, but more for fun as long as I don't hold back my buddies. I got real excited about have a dark knight though tbh.

Really wish it would just pass on to all characters if bought through the store. I want to be infinitely in the werewolf form. Btw, will guards still attack I sight in ww form?

There really is no tricking involved with the Crown Store in regards to WW or Vamp purchases. They don't tell you to get it, they don't state it's necessary to progress. This just seems to be due to a lack of research or asking questions whether in chat or on the forums. Reminds me of the impulse aisle right before the cash register at a grocery store. No one tells you to buy the candy there, but it's there for a reason. For people who can't help themselves and want something at that moment. You only have yourself to blame for buying that item at that moment in time and no one else.

No, but they will if you attack them or the local citizens.( provided you kill them in stealth by 1 shoting them or have the passive that Dark brotherhood has)
Also, the guards are unkillable and can 1shot you.
    Edit:
I forgot to mention that in the settings(in game), select "On" to prevent attacking innocent civilians otherwise when you transform in front of NPC then you will get a bounty and the guards will chase you for your bounty or WW head :D

Well, I'll try in chat tomorrow, my guildies are my buddies, we made a little guild for us, and I don't know how much they go for, but my highest is currently the level 10 I don't want it on who curently has it. Next is I believe 6.

Yes, they don't force you to buy it, but they also don't say it'll happen right away. Just says inflicts the curse. Or even a attention this only effects one character. I was going by my experience in other moms where it's an item that does things, that way I can buy it and then put it on another or future character. First time I've seen it just go poof right away.

If you have buddies playing with you... level up your werewolf skill tree till you can infect other players. Then pass it on to one of your buddy's character... then they level up the skill tree & pass it back to your character that wants werewolf. It just takes a bit of time & a whole lotta werewolfing :D ArrrrrOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

You can't really be 'infinitely' in werewolf form. It is an ultimate on a timer. You can stay werewolf for a long time if there are plenty of mobs to be devoured :D

Yeah, the permanent ww if just a dream I have. One day there will be a ww class in some game besides fosaken world. It does take a bit of time since it only levels with kills in it, unlike the rest.

It levels with kills made in WW form, but the amount of kills required to gain a level in the WW line is not very high, and once you gain the passive ability to devour corpses, you can stay in WW form virtually forever if you keep killing.

Find yourself a nice patch of fast-respawning mobs, and you can level there from WW1 to WW10 in an hour (and likely even faster), never dropping out of WW form for the duration (unless you need to go take a *** :) )

This is interesting, I have never seen the crown store from the perspective of a new player.
It's true there are several points that are tricky for a new customer even when they read in detail before they buy something.

I don't agree, because transparency is questionable when focussing on new players.

They don't know how to obtain skill lines.
As an experienced customer it's easy to say, "well noob get the info somewhere else".

But the reality is that a company is in charge to provide these details in a cash shop.
Of course they don't because it is somehow a tricky way to make money.

Thats legit, but don't say it's not tricky. Every kind of advertisment is tricky when other details are hidden.

Yeah, same goes for the rarer expensive motifs - they do not tell, that there is quite some skill required to actually use those motifs. And this is intentionally not on this page, to make those, who do not really understand the game yet, waste money on items, which they cannot use right away - and maybe never, because they just wanted to craft that style for their level, what is impossible at their level - but nothing tells them on the crown store, that they might be unable to use that motif.

I've never bought motiffs from the crown store, do you still need 9 or 10 skill line passive unlocked to even read them?

I can understand your frustration about using it on a character you didn't want it on.

BUT since being werewolf confers absolutely zero negative effects unless you are actually in ww form, I don't understand your complaint about getting it too early. If you buy it from the crown store it's not even as though you have to do the quest.

There's absolutely 0 reason to buy this from the crownstore. Ask in your guilds or if you don't have one there are threads on the forums where people offer free bites, this one for example:

    His complaint is as follows:

    1. ZOS intentionally Misleads Customers into purchasing by not being transparent about the items actual details.

    2. It's 15 Dollars and is instantly applied to a "single" character, rather then being account wide (Like every other game that charges 15$ for something like this, Buy a mount in WoW, it's account wide and permanent for example).

    3. Zos does not clarify that it will be instantaneously applied. In fact, the Advertisement for it specifically says "Added to your account to Use whenever you desire". Which in fact Implies that:

    * A. It is account wide (Which it isn't).
    * B. It is an item which can be used or not used at will. (Which it isn't).

So in fact ZOS intentionally implies and misleads the customer through marketing language to make assumptions about the item that are simply not true, and completely false, so that they will buy said item.

While not technically Fraud, because it is being implied rather then "Stated", this should still be an illegal marketing tactic, as it is purely misleading and intentionally malicious.

Well I did something similar when I started playing this game - I bought the Xivkyn because I just "needed" that medium helmet. Thought it was account wide and had no clue that the style mats were the "hard" ones to get.

Might be capitalizing, but might also be a way to get around the many players who were camping the werewolf and vampire spawns and killing them so they could charge gold for bites. Before more people started giving them for free, the campers had driven the price up into the thousands for a bite. Now that there are alternatives, the camping doesn't happen so much.

If you're on the NA/pc server, I have werewolves in all factions, and I never charge for bites.

You wouldn't be the first person to have made a purchase at the Crown Store and then come here to complain/warn/rant about it as being something less than you expected.

Think about your purchases twice at least once more. Ask yourself, "Do I really want this or do I need this?"

Electronic purchases over the 'net tend to have no refunds as standard so that alone should make you think about this and future purchases.
