So, what about an Enchanter class? I propose its ability to shift the meta away from tank/healer/dps by providing a mob 'shut down' role whilst offering some much-needed love to frost magic. I don't propose to have the perfect balance or coolest names for my skill set- not even morphs at this stage- but it is a draft of what it could do to inspire discussion. It draws on the Illusion skill line in Skyrim and the Hydromancer/Aeromancer skill lines in Divinity: Original Sin. I designed it to be used in conjunction with a frost destro staff and light armour, but could probably prove rather tanky as well. (This was an afterthought, why not introduce the possibility of becoming a ghost just as you can presently become a vampire or werewolf? It would provide a perfect RP synergy with the skills below.)
Enchanter class skills
Auramancy:
Ancestral Summon
Summon a spectral ancestor to fight by your side for 12 seconds. Its attacks deal frost damage.
Ethereal Shift
Teleport yourself to target location within 12 metres.
Blinding Fog
Target enemy cannot execute ranged attacks for 3 seconds.
Collision
All enemies within melee range are knocked back 6 metres.
Cryogenic Pulse
Every 2 seconds, for 6 seconds, all enemies within an 8 metre radius of the caster are rooted for 2 seconds. Afflicted enemies are 15% weaker to frost damage.
Ult.
Pascifism
Stun all enemies within 10 metre radius of target location for 15 seconds. After stun is broken, afflicted enemies continue to move 30% slower for 6 seconds.
Manipulation:
Drunken Bloodlust
Up to X nearby enemies attack whatever is nearest for 4 seconds.
Dementia
Steal X health and magicka from target creature.
Desperate Conversion
Afflict target enemy with a curse. If that enemy falls below 15% health within 6 seconds, they attack whatever is nearest until killed.
Freeze Blood
Place a rune of X metre radius at your location for 6 seconds. Enemies at target location move 90% slower but are 50% resistant to physical, fire and shock damage. Afflicted enemies are also 20% weaker to frost and disease damage.
Negate Ward
Remove an enemy's damage shield. Casting time 1.5 seconds. If you take any damage during this time, casting is interrupted.
Ult.
Spirit Rift
Summon 12 spirits to fight for you for 10 seconds.
Charisma:
Vapour Form
You cannot be targeted with direct damage effects for 2 seconds.
Heckling Blows
For 30 seconds, striking an enemy with 4 consecutive light attacks stuns them for 3 seconds.
Chilling Touch
Deal X frost damage to target enemy within melee range, also immobilizing them for 3 seconds. Enemies nearby target are chilled.
Project Voice
Shout at enemies in front of you, dealing X magic damage.
Occular Well
All allies in visual range are restored X magicka instantly, and X more magicka over 8 seconds so long as they stay within visual range.
Ult.
Bell Jar
Erect a dome of pure nihilism at target location. Enemies within are unable to heal or regenerate health for 20 seconds.
