CP Cap for next DLC being raised by only 30...

Yeah, what I expected. I don't understand how they can tell us 51 per DLC and then never come through with it. And now to further add insult to injury they are raising it by only 10 per tree...

So tired of the lies and disappointed I get from this game that I love so much. Why raise it at all?

/disappointed

I'd say that they'll raise it by at least 51 in the Dlc after that though because they're trying to give the new players(the new money) time to reach the experience level and cp level of the neglected long time players.

They never said it'd be 51 per DLC. They said a small increase per DLC. 51 is just a figure you heard around the forums.

30 seems fine. If they add a whole whack of CP at once, balance goes out the window (even more than it already has).

51 is the number Matt Firor said in an ESOLive back in January or something. What people FAIL to understand is that he was referring to an increase in general as the comment right after that was something like "Whatever we raise the Champion cap by it has to be a multiple of three so each tree gets a point". He never said that 51 WILL be what the cap is raised by. People took one sentence out of the entire dialogue and found 51 to be some sort of "promise".

increased by 30, I am unable to stop laughing. Instead increasing by 60 or 90 would not make a much difference.

They should not bother changing limit..

There will be more soon and since the majority of players, including me, still have not reched CP cap, we don't care that much. And yes, as always, the world caters the majority - this counts also for games.

i disagree with this "majority of players have not hit cap" theory that floats around unless you count accounts that logged in once said screw this game and left. I run a pvp guild, we cycle well over 100 people nightly and the only thing you see in party is 501 from top to bottom of the party window. If pvp only players can pull it off this easy anyone can in a very small period of time. You just lose long time customers who are still waiting for more progression while this non existent wave of new players "catches up"

They could have at least made it 39. That would have brought it to 540, or 180 per type, which would have allowed for an additional passive to be unlocked in each group.

    You could do 120, 30, 30 or 75, 75, 30.

They are clearly going to stick with the cater to casuals strategy, they are aiming for the new dungeons to be the same difficulty as the current difficulty of ICP and WGT (they said this on twitch) which means... hard modes of both dungeons will be cleared by any good dungeon group within a week or 2... ugh.. just ugh...

Its official, this game is now for casuals and daddy's credit card kids only.

As I understand it, casuals are likely those who have full time jobs and henceforth they cannot dedicate a majority of their time to a game. The "daddy's credit card kids" are those who have nothing else to do except spend their parent's money on games and devote their time to sitting on their a s s playing video games.

So now if we breakdown your statement, it can be taken two ways. A) The game is catering to casuals AND daddy's credit card kids, two separate groups with two very different time schedules to devote towards a game. Well this doesn't make sense at all. So you're saying that Zenimax is creating a game for those who spend quite a bit of time to the game and to those who don't (the casuals)?

Or B ) you've lumped both casuals and daddy's credit card kids into the same time pool. Which I'm guessing would be the "those who aren't hardcore" which in essence are the casuals then? But by the very inherent nature of what most casuals are comprised of (those with jobs) and what daddy's credit card kids are comprised of (those without jobs), it would then seem to me that again that lumping these two different groups of people into the same time pool would not make sense. Either way, your statement is likely just the spouting of words without actually taking the time to think about what was said.

I am glad they've increased it only by 30 though, if that is indeed the case.

Nah casuals are the ones who aren't at max CP yet after 2 years of playing this game. The daddy's credit card kids are the ones who buy all the crown store items.

Here is the thing about the Cap. If they raise it, then everyone who is at the cap now will just be at the new cap in PvP, so what benefit does it provide?

My only concern ill be for crafting.

Though; I do notice that they made no mention of increasing the cap for "crafted/crafting" materials and items, just for the overall CP cap (501-531).

So I can only assume that, if the PTS changes were applied right now, we'd still have a max of CP160 for Rubedite/Ancestor Silk/Rubedo/Ruby Ash.

If this holds true, then that's good news for my gear/weapons.

What benefit? I could potentially unlock new CP passives, buff stamina for my magic users and magic for my stamina users. It's fine if other players keep pace. I just want to feel like my character is progressing.

Players didn't like the VR system, and it was scrapped. The replacement system is so bad zos has gimped it with a cap. Here's an idea.....hire a team to develop a sustainable progression system. Current team is 0 for 2.

30 is a reasonable amount. I'd imagine most of the people who want it raised more are those who already have the extra CP and would like to use it as soon as possible. This would then give them a huge advantage against those who aren't there yet, opening up the door for frustrated newer players to leave the game - not a good business decision by ZOS.

As a couple of posters have mentioned, rounding it off would make it easier - say an extra 9 or 39 - to bring it to a nice round number and then increase by something like 30 each time.

I admit that I have not been playing for a year yet and have only just reached the cap myself but as I do not do PVP it really makes no difference to me how much they raise it. With a working group finder (joke) and doing random daily dungeons on 5 lvl 50 characters I can easily earn 15 to 20 CP a week.
